How have I not come across this before? I've been using Simplemining but this looks really nice.

Without reading through all 22 pages, has anyone here switched from Simplemining? How is Hive OS better?

I have switched from SMOS.  HiveOs is way better.  Has more miners, allows you to see hashrate trends, send you telegram notifications, shows a lot of graphics of temperature, fans, hashrates.  Its GUI is a lot nicer, richer and easier to use.

There is only two downsizes:
- Although Hiveos allows individual fans to be controlled, it doesnt have the Target Temp + Minimum Fan % concept as in SMOS.  I like to have my gpu lower than 70C with fans at a maximum of 70%.  If I let the auto mode enabled, it would allows temperatures higher than I am comfortable with.

- I dont understand why we have to apply a "miner" and "wallet", since the "wallet" in HiveOS already have its miner defined.

The upsides seem to outweigh the downsides. At least enough that I'll definitely give it a go today.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi. When are you coming with the Auto Profit Based Switching?

For example if the ZEC is more profitable to mine instead of ETH? Your OS automatically switches to ZEC Mining without the need of manual input.

Please let me know since Auto-Profit Based Switching is what we need at the current time.

Thanks.

Am just about to ask the same question.......was using Mutlipool Miner from aaronsace  on Multipool Hub and i really like his profit switching ......if hiveos could have profitswithing app added it would make this a complete package.

The day they create and advertise a linux based "one click" profit switching solution(or even awesome miner type solution for linux), will be the day most people move to linux..Until then I'll keep watching =(

I run Linux but I've been tempted to switch to windows because of this. Having a profit switching solution for Linux would indeed be amazing.
Please, please, someone do this.

They just launch API on HiveOS so you can create your own auto-profit mining switch

http://forum.hiveos.farm/discussion/192/hive-api

How can we make one?

BTW something else i just noticed and am not sure whether it is fixed yet or not. I use a Biostar TB250-BTC mobo and on the SMOS platform the USB image will not work on the latest bios. A bios from March 2017 is need .....On hiveos i was pleasantly surprised to see that a similar OS ....being linux based actually works on the Biostar latest mobo bios.....Just some info for anyone that would like to know.

-snip-

I was not a huge fan of SMOS so I switched to Ethos and haven't looked back but have heard good things about HiveOS

Can anyone that's used both Hive and Ethos describe which is better? I like that Ethos has teamviewer

I used ETHOS for months and I switched to HiveOS now.

HiveOs advantages:
- more miners
- telegram info: you become alerts wenn the Rig go offline, onlne, loged in, etc..
- hardware dogwatch compatible --> plug and play
- software dogwach: reboot if the hashrate go bellow your defined threshold
- USB sitck with 8 GB is enough

ETHOS advantages:
- maybe more stable
- Smartphone app
- teamviewer
- price: OTC

I wanna know, what's max GPU support on hive OS? is it limited to certain number? if i use something like asus b250 mining expert which have 19 gpu slot. will it work? has anyone already do that, or have experience?

19 GPU max on HiveOS (I think)
B250 (at the moment) to have 19 GPU you have to mix AMD and Nvidia (from the documentation of B250).

HiveOS have VNC and it is free for 3 rig so you can remove 2 advantages from Ethos Wink

💬 RIG4 : Claymore Reboot: Miner thread hangs, need to restart miner!
💬 RIG3 : Claymore Reboot: Miner thread hangs, need to restart miner!

U can see Telegram Log here, how often Hive Crash randomly and make me frustated
http://prntscr.com/igajy2

Im not OC my GPU.. Just mod bios, here it is amd-info :
http://prntscr.com/igajfw

Im using Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 4G with moded Bios.

what I've done to solve this problem ?
- Swap all the risers
- Reinstall HiveOS
- Change Bios Mobo settings (PCIE GEN2, 4G Encoding Enable)
- Reset Clock Memory (stock, not overclock. See the amd-info above)

But doesnt solve my problem, HiveOS is randomly crash every couple hours, and sometime hangs and cannot automatically restart :

And im must hard-restart rig using power button.

Can u help me to solve my problem? im very love HiveOS, hope u can solve my problem. Thanks!

I am still experimenting with the platform. But it looks awesome and has ALL the features i can dream of.

Anyone else has issues with flashing? My cards won't listen to the command (Trying to flash but nohting happens). Can i install atiflash and do it manually?

Better than SMOS & Ethos by far. Reccomend!  Grin

I tried to add another GCU on my rig.
When I restarted the rig I became this error message

Quote
Error: invalid arch-independent ELF magic.
Entering rescue mode
Grub rescue>

I stopped the rig and disconnected the new GCU but the same error message always appear now.
What the hell?

Thank you for you help

I will first put all machines on HiveOS and then i problemsolve Smiley
