While I appreciate very frequent updates of the OS, it seems that many questions here and on HiveOS forum are left unanswered.  Embarrassed

Does anybody know a better place to get updates and Q&A's about HiveOS in English language?

Which place is frequently visited by the dev?

came back this weekend from vacation to a Grub Rescue prompt Sad  Can't seem to fix it and not quite sure what to do (granted, I am TERRIBLE at Linux). Any advice? If not, can I completely re-install and then copy some files over to get back to my original rig configuration easily?

thx!

There's a problem with high CPU load on my two rigs

Code:
PID    USER      PRI  NI  VIRT   RES   SHR S CPU% MEM%   TIME+  Command
23800 user       20   0 29224  6508  2984 R 99.5  0.1 69h52:36 /usr/sbin/acpid

Any ideas what's going on?

Very simple just put the image back on the stick and boot it, it will ASK for your rig id and password an all your settings come back.

Thanks.  I did similar, except created a new rig because I wasn't sure it would work.  Then I just applied the same settings to it anyway.

hey guys i have some troubled rigs, some gpus made incorrect shares caused by oc settings. how may i watch them? they did not seen on each miner-log file. i catched them by randomly on miner-log.. and also nothing possible to watch from pool.

Connect on SSH or using Shellinabox .
and use command miner

List of usefull command:

=== Commands FAQ ===
miner - shows running miner screen
miner start | stop - starts or stops miner obviously
agent-screen - shows hive client agent
Ctrl+A, D - detach from screen (miner or agent) so it will be working in background
selfupgrade - upgrade hive from repository
firstrun -f - force rig setup, you will enter ID and password again
wifi - to setup WiFi if you have one
net-test - check your network connection
gpu-fans-find - find GPU by spinning fans
logs-off - for USB Flash Drives move logs to RAM

7 rigs total, 3 running HiveOS and 4 running Windows mining using Nicehash.

HiveOS is fast, stable, controlled using my web-browser.

- I ditched 1x ethOS mining rig ( paid $39 for the EthOS). EthOS is good but no WIFI supported is a huge disadvantage for me.

- Simplemining OS, still have money deposit in the account. Haven't touched for a while caused I had a problem with dwardpool payout and ETHwallet when I started mining.

- Can't wait to ditch Windows and using HiveOS for all of my mining rigs. Nicehash miners sometimes don't mine if I don't look at the machine??? lol.

Thank for making the best mining OS ever.

ps:

Don't know why but I have always encountered difficulty setting up a wallet. Is a potential problem using Nicehash wallet for everything?

For anyone who is looking for a cheap ( and strong) Wifi adaptor that works right out of the box. Check this one out.

Hi
Please add Miner xmr stak amd v2 in os  Cry
Very thanks

I second that! Please add the latest miners, or the ability for us to upload our own

Each miner requires some implementation, config, stats, parsing, etc. So there will be never ability to upload own miner.
There is xmr-stak-cpu

xmr-stak CPU+GPU was a bit raw and buggy until now, though there are plans to add it.

EDIT: XMR-STAK (CPU + GPU) is currently available. I am running it on Hive OS using 4 GPU's and 31 CPU cores.

Question: Does the XMR-STAK miner in Hive OS give 2% hash rate to developers?
If so is there a way to set it to 0%?

I have an HP DL580 G7 server that is running Hive OS from a flash drive. I want to run Hive OS from the two internal SAS hard drives that are set up as Raid 1 and appear to the system as a single drive.

I have searched the HiveOS forum and come across these posts:

How do I load single image on SSD
https://forum.hiveos.farm/discussion/482/how-do-i-load-single-image-on-ssd

How to install HiveOS as second OS to an SSD with existing Windows?
https://forum.hiveos.farm/discussion/260/how-to-install-hiveos-as-second-os-to-an-ssd-with-existing-windows

The second one seems promising and links to this page in russian:

Can someone help in the translation of the above and tailor it to a single OS partition as I will not be multi-OS booting. Hive OS will be the only OS on the hard drive.

My Bug report has been ignored on the Hive OS Forum. I'm not sure if it will get picked up there as there is no BUG Report Category so I will also post this here and hope it gets seen and fixed.

I do want to say that I really like Hive OS. It was a breeze to set up and very stable.

Rig configuration: I have Hive OS up and running on a HP DL580 G7 server which has four Intel Xeon E7-4830 processors and four GTX 750 GPUs. Hyper-threading is disabled so the system sees 32 real cores. It has 16GB memory (4GB per processor). HiveOS is mining Cryptonight using XMR-STAK (GPU & CPU) .

Intel Xeon E7-4830 Specs: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Intel-Xeon%20E7-4830%20AT80615007089AA%20(BX80615E74830).html

BUG: On the HiveOS Monitor screen the temperature shown for the processor cores all show 8.3 degrees and never change. This is not right as those cores are running full out.

The GPU's do show their correct temps 56, 75, 51 and 54 and do change so the bug is only for the processor temperature.

Further info: From Shellinthebox I have installed "sensors" and then ran it.

There is also one other sensor reported:

acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +8.3°C (crit = +31.3°C)

This is the incorrect sensor that HiveOS is picking for processor temperature and not the ones for the processors.

This is a BUG.

Please fix in a future release.
