0.5-45 IMAGE RELEASE 2018-04-19
- Logs are OFF by default
- Linux 4.13 kernel
- Installed ROCm with AMD driver to support Vega
- Configs partition is now NTFS
- Intel's E1000E updated network driver by default

Few words about Vega. Yes, it's running. But with consumer  motherboards you will have only 1 or 2 of them mining. In order to work it required PCI GEN 3 bus and x8 or even x16 slot. Most of us have x1 slot risers and maybe several x16. So at the bottom line it’s working, but not too much sense in that still.

Where is the current ToDo list and/or Version Change List?

This link no longer works: https://hiveos.farm/#todo

EDIT: Changelog is here: https://hiveos.farm/changelog

Why does this version 0.5-45 have the same version number as the one released on April 17th yet has more features?

No the HiveOS main site is still down and the.hiveos.farm is also having issues.

the.hiveos.farm is where you login to your miners. This may be up but one of my miners is still showing offline (was 2 offline) but they were never offline. I have checked with the pool they are mining to and the systems themselves and all is okay with them. The problem is with the.hiveos.farm.

As for the main web site hiveos.farm that is where you download the HiveOS images.

The Forum is also down: https://forum.hiveos.farm/categories

Thanks, I had a power outage this morning so I thought my internet was somehow down or something but it wasn't. My miners were showing on/off randomly but they were still working and showing on the pool. I think the site is back up too.

Is there some kind of attack going on?

First HiveOS goes offline (it still isn't fully functional yet) and now nanopool.org is offline.

Edit: nanopool is back online.

However HiveOS Forum is still down: Forum.hiveos.farm is DOWN for everyone.
http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/forum.hiveos.farm.html

the.hiveos.farm is still showing one of my rigs has been down for about 5 hours. It isn't down and still hashing to nanopool.

With the Forum down I can't research how to get my rig that HiveOS thinks is offline to show that it really is online.

How to setup HiveOS for SOLO mining with ccminer?

How i can add --no-longpoll --no-getwork --no-stratum --coinbase-addr= xxx commands?

I try:
"--no-getwork"
"no-getwork"
no-getwork
"no-getwork":true
"--no-getwork":true

in "Extra arguments for miner:"
But wont work.

Here is link to google translate for translating Russian to English: https://www.google.com/search?q=google+translate+russian+to+english&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b

Reading through the posts (and trying to interpret them) it looks like the Russian censorship (blocking) of Telegram is the reason for the outages.

The Forum is back online: https://forum.hiveos.farm/categories

However my first rig (of three) is still showing it is offline. I guess when I set it up it must point to one of the blocked IP addresses. I need to do research in how to change where it reports. At this time I don't want to power it off as it is currently mining on nanopool. If anyone here has a solution please post it.

one way would be to setup your own nomp/unomp instance (run your own private pool) and point your rigs at it. but someone will probably come along and tell you how with ccminer options directly, I haven't tried

I think I found the reason one of my three rigs is showing OFFLINE and the other two are ONLINE but the solution I thought should work doesn't.

In the rig.conf of the one that is working but HiveOS status shows that it is OFFLINE I see this URL:

#URL where hive server is
HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm:41282"

on the two that are working and HiveOS status shows shows ONLINE I see this URL:

#URL where hive server is
HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm"

Notice that the ones working does not have the port address: 41282

So this is what I tried:

In Shellinabox on the OFFLINE rig I ran mc and edited rig.conf and changed:

This: HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm:41282" to this: HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm"

I then saved the changes and verified that the changes were made by viewing rig.conf which did show that it was changed.

Rebooted the system and after it was up and mining went and to the HiveOS and reloaded page. Rig still shows OFFLINE. Exited HiveOS (https://the.hiveos.farm/a/) and then went back to https://the.hiveos.farm/a/ and HiveOS still says it is OFFLINE.

I then did  Shellinabox on the OFFLINE rig I ran mc and viewed rig.conf and I see it reverted back to:

#URL where hive server is
HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm:41282"

So my question is how can I change HIVE_HOST_URL="https://api.hiveos.farm" and make it stick even if rebooting?

You should change it on the rig's page also. In admin. In server urls dialog

You should change it on the rig's page also. In admin. In server urls dialog

I am on the FREE version of HiveOS with my three rigs. I have looked on the Rigs page and everywhere else and nowhere do I see "admin" or "server urls dialog". Is that only available on the paid version?

I got over the original issue by installing the latest HiveOS image 0.5-45. When starting it picked as the default "https://api.hiveos.farm". It then updated itself to 0.5-46 and asked for Rig number and password. It downloaded the proper configuration and is mining great using XMR-Stak for GPUs and CPUs on nanopool.

With that done I thought that HiveOS (https://the.hiveos.farm/a/profile/rigs) would show that is is back online. But that is not the case it still shows that it is offline. I cleared the browser cache and logged out then back into HiveOS but the offline issue still persists.

The HiveOS Rigs page shows the proper version 0.5-46 (which it had to get from the physical rig) also when the first run was done (Rig number, password) the rig communicated with the hive server to get the proper configuration for XMR-Stak.

So communication is working between the rig and HiveOS servers but the stubborn RED Rig OFFLINE is always present.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

---------------------------

EDIT: 04/21/18

Problem was finally resolved today.

Running net-test on the rig now does not show https://api.hiveos.farm:41282 at all.

In booting rig it still showed that it was failing to connect to https://api.hiveos.farm:41282.

I then ran firstrun -f and used the default https://api.hiveos.farm.

Rebooting rig now has the problem solved. Rig uses the https://api.hiveos.farm and now shows that it is ONLINE.
