I doubt it will ever reach anything close to $1k.
People will realize there are to many horded bitcoins. No reach guy is going to buy into bitcoins when he already is established with USD. Lets face it, you can't live off bitcoins.

When fiat changes for the worst, the fiat rich guy may change his mind. Moreover, you could also ask to get paid in BTC to obtain them.

prediction of the bitcoun value is a thankless work. If you want to earn free money selling bitcoun when it will be expensive then someone has to lose as much you earn. If you do not know who will be looser, than looser will be you - it's not my words.

The value of bitcoin and the vaule of other Cryptos if added all together becomes huge.
The vaule of BTC right now has been watered down and really if all the other smaller currencies weren't a reality then we would already be looking at a price of 35% higher.
because BTC is 1.25 billion Ripple 300 million LTC 55 Million + the others at an uncountable best current estimae 45 million

Bitcoin's inflation will be getting smaller and smaller. If this cryptocoin survive through many years it is natural to have high price like $1k because of mentioned inflation. However noone knows if it will survive so many years - goverment interventions are still an issue. They can close all the major exchanges and let BTC to die slowly

People said they'd never pay $100 for one, when it was worth $4.

This doesn't hold any weight in how the price is determined.

As it's starts to get more accepted as a legitimate currency and not just as a way to pay for illegal substances it'll go up. But a $1000 price is probably still a decade or two away.

US dollars is not the only currency that uses the dollar "$" sign. In some currencies, it already reached $1000. E.g., in Zimbabwean dollar, bitcoin price should be over a billion before Z$ was abandoned. Not the question OP intended, I know.

I think it may even reach 3000$ but it's gonna take at least 60 years. Every four years a block is smaller by 50%. It means that it's harder to mine which increases BTC value.

For bitcoin to reach $1000 before 2015, it needs some cataclysmic event. Like what happen to Cyprus.

60 years? Doesn't this assume that there is no new adoption, and all growth is from deflation?

Never, Bitcoin is worthless.
USD is base on Gold it suppose to have.
Other currency are base on Land, Minerals, ect.
Bitcoin... Doesn't have anything to back it up. Its value because is base on Demand the second people stop accepting it, it will become 0's and 1's. That's it.
