i just reading Luxcore roadmap on site

and see 15TH FEB – PRE-MINE BURN

does it means that 15th Feb we will get potentially price drop because a big value of luxcoins will out to market?

am i wrong?
Yes, till 15Feb is planed 10% of premine burn, you can read more details about in announcement https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/364671360515047427/396716699468169217/Announcement.pdf.
And burn of the premine doesn't mean that coins will be dropped out to market, it's just mean that planned amount of coins will disappear.

I looked at the roadmap and to be honest I didn't understand much what LUX brings over what BTC has. I didn't have time to read the entire whitepaper, but I have the feeling the coin is worth it. Can anyone make me a small summary of it's advantages?

I didn't really find a straight forward comparison. That would have helped. If I took time to thoroughly review every whitepaper to get an early impression it would be a full time job. It's something I need 5-6 hours for. I was hoping for a quick summary from somebody that is enthusiastic about it and has already put that time.

Not many sense in comparing BTC and LUX, different goals, different features, etc. You can look at Products https://luxcore.io/products and Features https://luxcore.io/features as quick overview, more detailed info by links above.

they are very different projects. a closer comparison would be comparing LUX to the likes of PIVX but LUX has additional features over PIVX, albeit a riskier overall proposition.

i have question to people who mining lux

why you do this? is there no more smart any other altcoin and then buy lux if you think you need it?

all pools suggested there to mine lux are crap.

if you lose 50% of profit you are lucky.

i tried mining another altcoin and then i can buy twice more lux instead if i would mine it directly

seriously who these guys who think that mining it profitable?

I'm very familiar with pivx so a comparison with it would be great

Which are those unstable pools? I am mining this coin since 2 months ago and pools usually go fine. You maybe want to people stop mining luxcoin.

The diff have increased alot so would not be supprised Tongue For me yimp is working fine (or should i say it doesnt to put off miners? hehe).
And i both bought and are mining LUX. Got 30% of my portfolio in it actualy, as i think it is one of the most undervalued ones at the moment.

Is it syncing currently or just stuck at "11 weeks behind" status?

Yes, stuck at "11 weeks behind"
Delete everything from %appdata%/Lux directory except wallet.dat, download latest bootstrap https://bootstrap.luxcore.io/bootstrap.zip and unzip it to /Lux, run your 3.0.4 wallet
I first downloaded the Linux binary lux-qt, and it had this error:

./lux-qt: error while loading shared libraries: libminiupnpc.so.8

So I ran "locate miniupnpc" and found it here "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libminiupnpc.so.10" which is a newer version so I downloaded the lux source to try that.

I built the Lux wallet from source on Ubuntu 16.04.03 64bit lux-qt version v4.0.0.0-587beac

I'm stuck at 12 weeks behind, I copied the bootstrap.dat file listed above to my .lux folder.

It started and said something about "importing from disk" for only a second or two, then went to syncing with network 12 weeks behind.

End of output of debug log:

I am thinking its choking on the bootstrap.dat file and stops.

Next i'm going to delete everything in .lux and try it without the boostrap.dat file again.

EDIT: I restarted the qt wallet after I deleted everything from the .lux folder and it syncs until block 1154 and errors out again and is stuck at 12 weeks behind.

When I run ./luxd it still chokes on block 1154

When I run ./luxd -loadblock=bootstrap.dat  it still stops on 1154.

Which are those unstable pools? I am mining this coin since 2 months ago and pools usually go fine. You maybe want to people stop mining luxcoin.

yiimp, altminer, bsod, is this enough?

if you will just make a check and see how many lux you get for 24 hours and convert it to BTC then for example make a 24H check with **K and see how many BTC you get you will be surprise

and cry because since 2 month you mining lux instead of mining **k and just buy lux this way you will get twice more coins

but whattomine will show you that you will get a lot more with mining lux

and i don't care will people mine this or not i just asking why there is no "Release stable pool for mining" in lux road map
