Where to do you ship, also to Europe?  If so, I'm interested. Smiley

Yes I believe I will be able to ship there. I am hashing out all of the shipping costs to different parts of the world and will post when I launch.

Really nice looking coins, good job!

How about Vires In Scrypt for the next batch? Smiley

Is there even a latin word for Scrypt?

I guess the idea was to keep the saying general with words that cross over to latin. The word "numbers" is much more general than Scrypt.  Smiley

As much as I like the idea of this. ITS A COMPLETE RIP OFF!

June 26, 2013 0946

At this moment silver is currently $18.95 per ounce

LTC is currently $2.701

This comes out to be 25 LTC x 2.701 = 67.525 USD for 9.475 USD worth of silver. So thats 7.12 times over spot price of silver.

Rip Off! nice try.

You're missing the point...

First of all, the coin is worth it's weight in silver, as well as the 10 Litecoins in the address on the back. So you're actually just paying 15 LTC for the silver.
Secondly, it's not the silver you're paying for really, it's the collectors value. These are worth every cent in my opinion, especially the first batch.

Please make a post in my Reputation Thread if we've had a successful trade.

Check your math again. There is 10 LTC included in the coin plus 1 LTC send to development team for Litecoin plus the 1/2 troy ounce of silver plus the capsules plus the leatherette case.

You don't have to buy it.  Smiley

Ok, I stand corrected, you get 10 LTC back, but that still makes 15 LTC per coin lets do math again..

15 LTC x 2.701 = 40.515 USD That is still 40.515 USD for 9.475 USD in silver, way over spot price

Perhaps but when dealing with precious metals, its no joke, paying that much over spot price is more than what the US Mint charges for its American Silver Eagle coins online...

I know i dont have to buy it. But its good to alert people they are paying way too much for silver if thats what they are looking for.

Perception. Some paid 3 BTC for a 1 BTC casascius version 1 coin. So applying logic to collectibility simply does not always compute. People buying this will likely be buying for the collector value.

To be honest, in a year I wouldnt be surprised if these sold for much more than they were bought for in LTC terms.

Anyways thanks for your input.

You might want to think about limiting the number of coins on a per-household basis.

Good luck but I guess I'll miss it.

25 LTC is too much for 10 LTC denominated and some 3.5 LTC in silver coin and , and + shipping on top of that.

Right now I am playing this by ear.

If someone wants to buy a large chunk 125-200 or more at once I will likely charge them a higher price for a large locked-in price. But so far i've only gotten offers up to 10 coins per user.

You have a point. It is essentially a balance because this first batch, as I said in my OP, was to gauge the interest of the community. If I dont sell any...no problem.  Smiley

You might want to think about limiting the number of coins on a per-household basis.

Smiley

Wait, wat? I'd expect a larger bulk order to have a slightly discounted price.

I want to preorder two so hard! I guess ill have to wait until the sale thread is posted!

A household limit might be good to prevent someone from screwing everyone else and ordering half of the batch outright.

Awesome work smoothie.

Smokey, this is not 'nam, this is bowling. There are rules. Do as the dude would wish, and mine some Lebowskis! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260311.0
