[GLC] Globalcoin | 4 Year Anniversary 1.5.4! | NO IPO, NO PREMINE

If there are others that want to get out then you are going to have to lower the price. I am almost to my preset limit of what I am going to pay and keep this coin up right now. Some have taken advantage of the situation and I kind of understand. Help me out some also please if you want out. Only me and one other are stopping the coin from going below 100SAT.

I can see that some are working on the wallets but does anyone know if dev just ran off or can someone get him?? I want to get a lot going on this coin again. Right now I am helping where I can. Others are as well. It is pretty worthless waste of time to try to promote this coin much. When things start happening at a good pace with some of the good changes....THEN will be the time to promote this everywhere. Money WILL be made if this dev will finish what he started and have some respect for the people that are sticking by him. Otherwise someone needs to take it over. I might know a couple of people that would do just that. The original dev needs to come back so that it does not have to be done because I can't promise anything right now. Thanks

Well, figured out how to compile from earlier commits:

sudo git checkout -b new_branch abbe9c9a5d28492fd75affd04df636cc432a928b

"new_branch" is anything you want to call it. The long string is the commit ID.
The commit ID above seems to be the last commit that works on Linux (didn't try later ones as I suspect something in the next one is what broke it). It is GLC version 1.5.3.

Here are the commands I now use to compile version 1.5.3 (without the dependencies):

In the process of trying to get 1.5.4.1 to work I deleted the blockchain to see if that was the problem. GLC on xpool.net will be back once it is done DL'ing.

Will the next wallet be able to stake?? I am not trying to be pushy. I am just curious because that might peak some peoples interest.

Coin is moving WAY up as far as were it was volume wise. I wonder if it is close to the vol. of the copy globalcoin. (This one will always be the genuine and outdo the fakes)

I think this is due to the hacking that was going on a while back. I had never seen anything like it.

So is there any change in the future plans of the coin, or everything will still be limited to the release of the new wallet in case the fork?

This is a change the scrypt algorithm and adding POS.

I believe POS is something the devs are still looking to accomplish.

a-okay?? Are you serious? the network hashrate is barely 40MHs... for literally less than $5.00 any idiot can hire the hashrate needed to attack the network.

POS please. POW needs too much backing, the market is saturated and you're competing for POW hardware to mine this coin instead of others. Or AuxPOW but then the coin becomes a throwaway, something you get on the side.. I don't know POS just seems more logical with the current circumstances.

1. pow/pos hybrids good idea, bad IQ. if we can get a carbon copy of t3k/peer (go sha) or nova. those are the only ones that I know that actually work ... buggy such buggy.

3. there seem to be checkpoint/roll back solutions that will allow a low hash coin to survive (see IFC)

4. pure stakes .... sure when GLC has a massive following and no other solution is possible. stakes market is saturated and lacks the security to invest/hold $millions. Let NXT, Black, and POT deal with the bugs for 2-3 years before it is a solid science.

5. antiASIC algo POW ... global is POW ... if you want to fork a working POW to stakes send me a PM I've got dozens in need of that service. but Global is POW Wink

6. even if do nothing .... basic crypto ... raise the price raise the hash (repeat) /&&/ counter rent a rig if malicious players show up

I think we are going to be dropping to 1 GLC per block and extending the subsidy halving timeline to ~3.5 years that will mint 2160 GLC per day and at 0.00001000 that is just over .02 btc per day. That way we can keep the 70 million cap and have a decent subsidy for over a decade. During that time, there will likely be some changes, POW/POS Hybrid? Who knows.

In other news 1,175,000 GLC available to 0.00000250 on cryptsy. After then, I cam sure the sellers will be back, but it is clear now.

We should push to gobble them off the market.

could the algo reward be stepped down .25 per week?
so 6.25 to 6.0 .... 1.5 to 1.25 to sustain rate 1.0^{reason being it would get the remaining scrypt mining pools interested in GLC before hitting sustain rate of 1.0.}
and once at r=1.0 some daily drop of 0.1% (sorry don't know how that maths with halving timeline to ~3.5 years)

Been about a month since developers have posted, would be nice if they could chime in.

As I thought that the lack of progress and review of the strategy leads to a lack of interest in globalcoin.
It is a pity that the developers do not realize it..

They are working towards the ends, not easy to make changes or one of us would have done it by now. I guess Global turned 2 years old without anyone noticing.

are you on the development team? or do you just know what they currently are working on (please share if you do)

Not on dev team, but i do speak with them on occassion as to client upgrade progress. They are people with lives, problems, and other interests. They are working on the client and will at some point have it finished.

If anyone wants to help push client changes please do, but if not, we are beholden to their schedules.
