Hey rentberry, would it be possible if you answered my question?

I can't verify my private key for token sale. My BTC was deposited from an exchange. The "Token Purchase Agreement" was not working and still not working on Cryptonomous so I thought Berry distribution would be handled from my Cryptonomous account. I found your Token Sales PDF later about needing the private keys.

What can be done?

Thanks.

Greetings bitliu,
We would advise to contact Cryptonomos support (support@cryptonomos.com) in this regards.

Thanks. I've done this and it appears Cryptonomos has a different Token verification policy than your team. After emailing Cryptonomos, they will allow us to use a ETH or BTC withdrawal address of our choice with no private key verification. Please correct your Terms of Token Sale by removing all mention of "verifying private key." This process has been confusing and worrisome for potential investors like myself.
https://rentberry.cryptonomos.com/downloads/Rentberry_Terms_of_Token_Sale.pdf

Personally I think this just proves my point further, we shouldn't be dealing with some little known 3rd party for investing into this company.  I'm still waiting to hear back from somebody as to why they are asking for KYC information long after receiving investment funds...it makes one very uncomfortable sharing such personal information with a 3rd party who really has no need or justification for asking for stuff like this, maybe I'm still missing something here but sure feels "off" to me.

Here is my guess. They used a copy and paste token sale form and never bothered removing that KYC and private key parts. All of that makes sense if they're not using a 3rd party. But since they are, none of that info should be required. I'm trying to get clarification if that's the case.

Ya I've got an inquiry out to RentBerry myself, but please do let us know of anything you find out.

I've now got these Cryptonomos support staff asking me to supply screenshots of my fricken information!  How on earth are we supposed to trust this crap if they are THAT unprotective of our private information, scary as hell with what harm can be done these days with the information required in these KYCs!  Am I crazy, or is this nuts?!

Oh boy, more replies from Cryptonomos, I gotta say if this is legit and RentBerry had some reasoning for choosing to let these guys middle man their ICO...seems an offly big mistake, not liking their replies at all and not liking the apparent mishandling of people's private information!  Like are we really to trust giving and 3rd party like this information such as required in a KYC.

Can anyone say for sure if this is even legal that they notify you of this requirement, that a KYC needs to be completed with a 3rd party entity....2 weeks AFTER they have taken possession of investment funds?!  Is it safe and sane for a company entrusted with such information to allow their staff to ask people for screenshots of private information, such that is required in a KYC?!

Can anyone state any sane reason why these KYCs would not be handled directly with the company we are investing in?  Trying hard to understand this as man this seems crazy as shit to me, and I've invested now in many an ICO!

EDIT:  WTF.....ok this is getting really scary, what the hell is going on here RentBerry?!  This damn company doesn't even have an address on their site, NOTHING that shows them to be a real company....and you have them collecting funds and PRIVATE INFORMATION from your customers?!  An apparent Russian company nonetheless, the country that produces the most hacks, attacks and crooked online shit in the world, and has no legal responsibility in the countries most of your investors are coming from...are you fucking kidding me.  This is so insane!!!

Please for the love of God, someone from RentBerry respond here....I would also like to know how I can get my investment back as I am NOT giving these guys shit!

Ya man I here ya, I would not have done it either knowing they were going to request this...this is shady as shit, the more I find out the more it screams HUGE fricken problem!  I'm dying to know now if what they are doing asking for this after holding funds for 2 weeks is even legal, it sure as the hell feels illegal as shit to me...like that's a HUGE determining factor in making an investment decision, especially after finding out the company is in Russia and has no real legitimacy that I could find!  SOO many red flags here is not even funny.

Ya thanks, as I said though I've contacted their support.  Hasn't been but a day though so hopefully they chime in here soon, I've also requested from Cryptonomos to refund the ETH I sent in as I am definitely not giving any information to this highly questionable 3rd party.

I felt however this too needed to be put out where everyone could see as I seriously don't think this is being done securely or in a trusted fashion, people should know what they are getting into and I'm sorry to all but there is something fishy as hell with this company that is involved in Russia.

Haha, you might want to read last few posts and wait to hear who this company is that your sending your money and private information too.  Something sure feeling off to me with this I tell ya, now seeing replies to these types of inquiries here and ignoring some very huge concerns from those already invested..getting more uncomfortable by the minute.

I was researching about this ICO and got few doubts that are stopping me to invest and I would like to try have more information that would help me for final decision about this ICO.

2.4. Not an Investment. Purchaser should not participate in the BERRY Token Sale or Purchase BERRY Tokens for investment purposes. The Purchase of BERRY Tokens pursuant to this Agreement is not designed for investment purposes and should not be considered as a type of investment. BERRY Tokens may not be transferred until the end of the Sale Period and are subject to certain vesting periods as set forth below in Exhibit A. Purchaser acknowledges, understands and agrees that Purchaser should not expect, and there is no guarantee or representation or warranty by Rentberry, that (a) BERRY Tokens will be listed for trading on any exchange, or (b) the Rentberry Platform will be adopted as described in the White Paper and not in a different or modified form.

Quote
it's not an investment - that's totally correct as BERRY is a utility token, not a security one. Token holder will not receive any profit sharing, dividends or equity in the company.

Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rentberry/comments/78n5s8/announcement_ico_rentberry_decentralized_home/

So if BERRY tokens not going to be listed on exchange what is the point to invest at all? What investors will get in return?

Hi gOhnIvxXIP,

Thanks for your comment. Utility tokens are designed to be used within token ecosystem. The purpose of the BERRY token is to make rental experience more efficient. The whole Rentberry platform will be tokenized. Tenants and landlords will be able to perform numerous transactions on the platform much faster, more secure and cheaper than before. For example, tenants will be able to pay for rental applications using BERRY tokens and landlords will be able to use BERRY tokens to promote their properties, etc. The payment in BERRY tokens will be much cheaper than the equivalent payment in fiat (for example, tenants can pay $9.99 for rental application in fiat or equivalent of $4.99 in BERRY tokens).
But the main purpose of BERRY token is helping tenants to save millions in rental deposits. Community members (can be anyone) can use tokens to back financially tenants and receive rewards in return (interest rate).

Where can I sell your coin?

Thank you for such detailed asnwer, makes sense. How about "why I should invest and what I get in return" part? In case BERRY tokens will be not listed on exchanges what I suppose to do with them? Thank you!

Agree. What if I don't have the opportunity to rent a home for a year because I have no plans to go outside or that sort? So the berry tokens will just be sitting in my wallet and have no chance to convert it to other cryptocurrency or to my fiat money? Or even if I wanted to avail the home rental but the problem is it's not available in my area, so my tokens will be useless.

At the moment seems this ICO is just for collecting funds for development of internal system virtual currency. However it's not clear what investors will get back in return.
I strongly suggest to wait and invest only in case when this toke is listed in exchanges ( that would not happen at least in the near future from current company statements  ).

Currently all investors are putting their funds to internal currency and at the moment only way to earn from this investment I see is to sell this token to person who actually will spent it for this platform services.
Let's say I'm about to invest $10 and in return from current rate ( 0.0004 eth per token ) I'll get 20 BERRY tokens.  As we do know internal currencies tends to have less price value so than actual currency ( let's say it's 30%-40% ) but not having actual services prices using this token makes even hard to calculate possible return from this ICO.

Anyways, all the best with this ICO.
