There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

ASIC kill Monero ? - https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201803132107063379CD35Gxy064F

Zero is 100%  ASIC resistant meaning that it can’t be mined with big ASIC miners making it unprofitable for big farms with ASIC capacity,

Does something like 100% ASIC resistent really exist? I thought nothing could by principle be ASIC resistent, event thought of course the costs/benefits could make some coins more resistent. What would make zero 100% ASIC resistent?

Specialised ECO Mining Algorithm - Equihash 192 / 7

They would have to figure Equihash out first, then figure out our new algorithm(Equihash 192 / 7). Of course there is still 1% but I highly doubt it would happen.

how to get this win wallet working ? never used something similar...
read readme.txt
Installation:
1. Unzip the file inside Documents folder or on other secure place where is not possible to erase it by mistake!

2. Add this forlder to your antivirus exclusion list. This program is not a virus, however some AV might consider it by mistake as such and wallet won;t be able to run.

3. Install java by downloading apropriate installer from this url:
https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

2. Edit zero.conf and set strong username/password (it will work even if you skip this option)

3. Start install_conf.bat by clicking on it.

4. Create a Desktop shortcut of ZEROSwingWalletUI.jar

5. Launch the shortcut

6. Allow firewall exclusions when asked to.

 Enjoy.

ZER review  https://www.reddit.com/r/ZeroCoins/comments/854gs5/zer_review_bitcoinistcom/?ref=share&ref_source=link
Quote
ZEROCOIN – ZER (NEW EXCHANGE LISTING AND WALLET)
ZER is the smallest market cap crypto on this list and truly has the highest likelihood of an exponential climb in the coming weeks. They are valued at $0.93 per coin with a market cap of $2.5 million. January 9, 2018, saw ZER surpass the $12 per coin mark. That means while BTC and most coins have corrected 40-70%, ZER has fallen over 93% since its all-time high.

Currently, ZER is only listed on one exchange and its catalysts for a major increase in value are their upcoming announcements of a major exchange listing and a new wallet.

ZER has promised to have their mobile wallet released and a large exchange announcing the listing of their crypto by March 31. ZER’s utility is about to increase significantly. The addition of a wallet while boosting volume and publicity with the announcement of a new exchange will greatly increase ZER’s short-term value. The ZER team and concept are both impressive and revolutionary. This week should provide a huge boost to ZER’s value with a wallet about to be released and a major exchange listing announced.

You are generally right but one way to fights ASICS is you can make it prohibitively expensive for the mining industry to build the appropriate hardware by having a constantly changing algorithm.

Cryptopia has been a problem for most coins recently: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/News
Although ZER wasn't part of the recent collection of withdrawal delays (lasting weeks!), they are useless these days.
But yeh needs must for Zero by looks of it. Hope it works out for you, 50% is a big spike I don't blame you skimming profits  Wink

HI ALL.

PLEASE REMAIN VIGILANT WITH ALL YOUR TRANSACTIONS IN CRYPTOSPACE

We have received the below from official support@kucoin.com email address

"
Hello « Zero » team,
We received many requests for the listing of your coin on our exchange, but it seems that some informations are missing.
Indeed, we try to accept more and more crypto-cur rencies but we want to simply focus on strong and serious projects.
Therefore, it would be necessary for us to communicate several elements, so send the following information:

- Project website.
- CoinmarketCap link (if listed) / Discord link /or Telegram link (to check if the community is active).
- Github link.
- Logo of your token (png, jpeg, svg)

All those informations are required in order to check if your cryptocurrency is suitable for our website and if the developers are active (Github, discord etc.)
As you know, we need to ask some fees, but the sum is symbolic. It just wants to filter the coins listed on Kucoin and being invested in their own project.  Amount: 0.5 BTC (without fees)

BTC ADDRESS (Generated automatically):
1FW9MBKNfr1FKhKf2NHb9TffCsLU7NnvDB

As soon as you sent the coins, please reply this with the Txid and the name of your coin. The dev team will come to you to finalize last details about your listing.
If your coin is not eligible because you do not fulfill the criteria, you will be refunded following the treatment of your listing.

Regards, Kucoin team

Ps: Please, note that our response to your reply email may take some time as we have a lot of requests to process. But if you received this mail, that means that your request will be processed in about a week.
"

We have made our due diligence and background check as appropriate and it TURNS OUT that the above email was a SCAM.
Unfortunately for many victims scammers have managed to impersonate the official email address of Kucoin.
When you really want something it is not difficult to fall in a trap like this. Like all community i too would have wished that this email was coming from its true source
We have talked with Kucoin representatives (We tried to reach them all Weekend) and they confirmed that this is a scammers act. (Double checked just to be sure)

Managing to send an email from an official email account (using spoofing or whatever other method) is above average in the hacking community
Please be very carefull in your dealings as scams are taking the crypto space in a whole other level.

Thanks

PS. Above does NOT mean that we are NOT going to be listed in Kucoin obviously Smiley

Yeah, same problem with cryptopia's wallet today, sent coins six hours ago and still nothing on cryptopia's balance, no records on deposit history. So frustrating…, hopefully another exchange will be in place soon.
