If someone could figure out how to reprogram the FPGA's in the Baikal Giant B to mine other algorithms, this would be huge. To be fair, the person could sell their firmware for a good price to other Giant-B owners. This device is a monster in disguise for an expert FPGA programmer.
if he will find out/reprogram firmware - why he should sell it? he'd buy more baikals and mine himself on new algos... lol It's a good point -- so has anyone heard of an FPGA specialist doing solo mining? Such a person could make thousands of dollars per day. I used to program FPGA's in the early 2000's... however it is very complicated and time consuming, way harder than writing normal software. Pictures of the two newest Baikal miners (ie. Giant X10 and the Giant B) seem to be relatively the same. Is there anything preventing using the IMG file (provided by the Baikal support page) and having a 'working GiantX10 or Giant B miner with just a IMG file swap? If not, what is different about them? Will damage occur to the device is this is attempted?

Decred is more profitable than vcash. Vcash only makes about $20 a day.

i think it will happen like with the x10 - till we get it is not really profitable anymore. atm lybr would give about 490$/day.
Of course. That is the strategy with every ASIC miner manufacturer. Think about it. If a piece of hardware makes $500/day WHY THE F@# would they send it to someone else to mine with it? They will build it and mine with it themselves using presale funds and ship it to the buyer when the difficulty goes up so much that it becomes a breakeven point. That's the rule with ALL ASIC miners. This has been the same for years from butterfly labs to USB BTC miners back in 2013. Occasionally they ship a few early to Youtubers (like VOSKCOIN who will make a video about anything if you pay him enough) to get attention and presales going faster than ever. If you recall VOSK got his Siacoin miner earlier than everyone else, on the first day it made $500 (just like it did for the manufacturer) and within a few days it dropped to $40/day and thats when BITMAIN shipped them all out.

Good afternoon! I turn on Baikal Giant B, wrote the address for maining Dicret on the nicehashe or suprnova pool. Baikal shows a hash of 160 Gh / s but does not earn coins. I already installed a new firmware but it did not help. In the same network, another Baikal Giant B works and it works well. Then I even removed from the worker Baikal Giant B Orange Pi and put it on faulty but it did not help either. Please halpl me.

So there's basically no support from Baikal...All we got is us.....
To get your baikal giant B working again if you get 111 miner down in red letters, you have to update your tf card. The instructions are on the baikal website. You have to unscrew baikal panel on back, unplug the fan (its white middle, only one...pic on baikal website), pull out the red hash boards slowly. You will see the sd card, to get it out lift the raspberry pie component off the controller. Pull out card, put it in a pc. You will need an sd mini adapter for your computer if you don't have that slot on your computer. You have to download and the new baikal img from github. Your going to use window32disk to mount the new img. Once its mounted put it back in the baikal. Put your baikal back together carefully. Restart. This may fix the nicehash connectivity issues also.

I had the same problem, you have to update your tf card in the baikal giant b. Its a pain in the ass. It will work after. But I still cant get nicehash to connect. The other pools connect though. No V-chain.
