I don't know where to put this miner.bat file, where to download the cgminor, etc. Previously the last addnode wasn't in the instructions - the p2pool.org, so that helps a little more.

It's like trying to get in and understand Linux. Everyone assumes you're an expert, and few are willing to break the instructions down to point by point so that everyone can easily understand.

You have to do this for all coins if you want to solo mine them. After your first time, it only takes about 1 minute to do it for a new coin

Download cgminer and make a .bat with this in it:

cgminer -o 127.0.0.1:8108 -u x -p x --scrypt

It will launch cgminer using your wallet as the server if you did spots.conf correctly

I wouldn't know to google search that without the prior info. If all of this was written clearly on page one, no one would take up your time asking questions and attempting to get clarification. Why waste time with poor instructions? A program that's not ready to use, or doesn't already have these files included in the zip? Seems a lot of wasted time all around. Allow you experts to scan through CLEAR instructions and allow the rest of us to go point by point. Raspberry pi in the Linux world seems to get that approach - so that millions of new users want to use their product. But I fail to understand the value in this vague approach and assuming everyone knows what you're taking about. Does it save any time? Whose? Yours?

I'm having similar problems as described above.

I've run the client on 4 different machines on 4 different networks, and while 1 initially sync'd, after stopping it and restarting it, it couldn't connect to any more than 1 peer before going back to 0 peers. Another machine was able to connect kind of. 2 other machines couldn't connect at all. I read the posts and used this config:

rpcuser=x
rpcpassword=x
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=8108
server=1
gen=0

addnode=96.2.111.139
addnode=67.167.228.42
addnode=69.85.86.195
addnode=68.103.6.158
addnode=71.187.248.95
addnode=70.69.238.84
addnode=108.185.218.246
addnode=70.98.114.229
addnode=p2pool.org

Does anyone know why this happens?

I've had the same problem with other coin QTs. And............ I've finally figured it out. You just need to wait an ungodly amount of time, and maybe restart a few times and wait more. Eventually it works.

That's a sucky answer, but that's what I've found works. Sorry for the bad news.

Not for me; other wallets are good and connect quickly. Spots wallet though: not so good :-)
