is there any server mining going on with QRK? If so which pool is best to use? EDIT: It's a linux server by the way.
All the pools are listed on the front page , linux should be fine , just complie, there are lots of miners , depending on your server you may solo not sure ?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It may be a stupid questions but I didn't find anything related to mPown what is it exactly ?
MPow is momentum Proof of Work its what PTS or Protoshares is currently using , there was a bounty and gigawatt found a better implementation of it , he may want to usevthat for quark not as a test , but it would much more robust. See any PTS tenchinal topic . Its the memory hard PTS work algorithm . I'm not sure how this would work. Changing the PoW would invalidate all the miners, pools, etc. Not? Besides botnets, I like that Quark is mineable by commodity CPUs. I've got a couple of scrypt GPU rigs which I use Quark cpu miner on. Using P2Pools, I've managed to put these processors to good use with modest returns. I like the Quark model for this reason, though I do agree that a minimum block reward would be desirable (txfees feel too much like taxes). PoS would also be nice, to reward people for holding Quark and building the network. I do not like memory hard PTS work algorithm or XPM because it screws over the little guy. Furthermore, I am personally glad that I did not waste my precious time and (more importantly) my money in PTS after the Memorycoin debacle, as seems more and more like a scam.

Bam ! and you've twisted my rubber arm - I agree on everything except that after a few years there should be a hard limit - i'll explain and i think you will see soon why that will be - i was missing the genius right in from of me and that is the Quark algo - PoS - i see as too risky - definite 90 second blocks in the future but - ? News coming , id rate it at medium to high excitement rate -

I just want the Quark community to know this is not a "Pump and Dump" - if you know me i don't "Pump and Dump".
I develop or try to in the conjunction with the Great Dev team that Quark has.

I couldn't get it to compile on Linux yesterday. I tried: apt-get install unzip -y cd wget http://stonefoz.myfastmail.com/cpuminer-quark2.zipunzip cpuminer-quark2.zip cd cpuminer-quark2 CFLAGS="-O3 -msse2" ./configure but it wouldn't configure... I'm on Ubuntu 12,04 LTS 64... feel free to PM me if you can help, I'll be sure to tip some QRK if I get it going and mine some coins!

You mean, when you do the command "./configure" , it doesn't do anything ? Your line with CFLAGS seems weird. maybe you should edit it rather than invoking it in a terminal ? What are the errors ? I know they are some problems with libcurl and the m4 file for exemple

I can't find the source code for that miner. There is another here but https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-cpuminerI tried this as mentioned earlier in this thread: apt-get install git libcurl-dev libjansson-dev git clone https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-cpuminer./autogen.sh ./configure CFLAGS="-O3" make strip minerd Without success. As you can see, I am pretty rubbish in lunux, I am just looking for anyway to mine, I am not married to any one miner.

ok let me do this and see what happens then i will help you . also we keep saying it and over an over again - can you please tell us what errors you are getting and at what stage - but if you are getting the ./configure: line 5958: syntax error near unexpected token ,' ./configure: line 5958:LIBCURL_CHECK_CONFIG(, 7.10.1, ,' error - - after you try to: ./configure CFLAGS="-O3"- try : apt-get install libcurl4-gnutls-devbecause that means you have not make a makefile - so tell us what errors you are getting . ** i can compile this and get minerd - (Ubuntu 12,04 LTS 64) or near enough.

I had to compile it something like two days ago, and I also had a problem with libcurl when I ./configure, and I found a solution there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4823.0Sorry for necroposting, but there is solution. (I am using FreeBSD). $ cd cpuminer $ mkdir m4 $ cp /usr/local/share/doc/curl/libcurl/libcurl.m4 m4
Then add string "ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS = -I m4" to file Makefile.am and edit file autogen.sh - replace string "aclocal" with "aclocal -I m4". That's all.
