At a guess Cryptsy is being slow.  I get 10 confirmations in a less than 5 minutes normally, but when transferring to Cryptsy it takes longer.
You're selling? All the alts are flying!
Cryptsy can't take the load which was expected. Give it time, by then QRK will be of more value.

so I've tried everything I can find from the OP links and everything from the last few pages of the thread and absolutely can't mine on a pool.

Either the miners I was told to download have

massive malware trigger on my av/firewall (that one was a mistake click by me for sure*) or it flips to a download about 7 things of bloatware and even after declining them all but clicking next to go through it won't download the miner at all (a linked miner repeatedly in this thread and was again recently linked--I can't figure out how to download it b/c it won't).

I can't figure out how to mine this on a pool (presuming solo is useless at this point) without putting bloatware or malware on my computer.

I'm really starting to hate this coin.  How the flip is anyone buying this?  I figure if I can't mine this without complete shit on my computer that others can't either.

Yeah, I'm kinda mad.  That's scamcoin crap.

*it's via one of the pools in the OP, seriously with these OP's on the coins clean then up once in awhile ffs.

Same here, trying and willing to mine it, but no idea how and the pools aren't very user-friendly

Popularity. Marketing.

There's a lot more that can be done. Only if there are more devs.

Its says only "Try 'minerd --help' for more information." And then back to command line.

so its looking like this http://s16.postimg.org/ciqaxd0h1/cpuminer.png

I try now also add also cudaminer mining but that doing much and fast something but i dont see my worker is active in pool.

Edit. I run cudaminer about 15minutes and dont see its active in pool or anything.

The parameters look correct. Maybe try one of the other cpu miners in this thread.

This miner is using the scrypt algorithm, so it won't work for Quark.

If you want to use GPU mining, you can try smelter's GPU miner (he takes a 10% comission):

That's very vague.

Why has the popularity suddenly increased?
How has the marketing changed recently?
Any recent news to point out?
Has the difficulty spiked up?
Why?
Is there a new CPU miner out there?
GPU miner completely outperforming CPU miners?

This doesn't happen randomly:

I am not involved with Quark officially, but here are my attempts at answers:

The popularity of lots of Alts has increased, quark is a fast and secure Alt and therefore has drawn in interest.  It reaches its end game of being transaction only quite soon, meaning no more inflation.  It's great to send, I find it is sent and confirmed in about 2 mins.

The marketing has increased.  Bill Still, a famous economist, posted a youtube video about Quark predicting $ parity.  Others on this board are working to set up apps and payment systems using quark.

There was talk of changing the algorithm to momentumPOW like PTS, I don't know what is happening with that now.

Difficulty is massively higher now, it was below 100, now it is about 2000.
I don't know of a new CPU miner that is better, though some claim better results.

GPU mining also seems to be just rumour.

Better mine as much as you can before the flood of people from China, catches wind of this coin.  Seeing how there is a lower cost of entry being CPU mining and all, their might be more interest more lower income Chinese citizens.
Add to that speculators that buy and sell.

Is mining quarks with i7 CPU worth of anything? Or it is too small power?

Not sure how the the Chinese adding the coin soon resulted in a sell off, strange.

On the i7, I reckon you'd get 1mh/s so maybe about 120 Quarks a day at current difficulty, more than your electricity no doubt.
