Any time frame for the restock of the AUC3 for the A821 ?

I don't need a pie, just 2 AUC.

Thanks

Are you looking for a AUC compatible with older model AvalonMiner, like maybe Avalon6?

Since older model AUCs are little hard to find, you could go with this method.
HOW TO RUN THE AVALON 6 MINER WITHOUT AN AUC2 CONVERTER?
https://www.cryptouniverse.at/run-avalon-6-miner-without-auc2-converter/

This method uses the IIC interface of the Raspberry Pi directly.

The A821 comes with a AUC3 included.

Seriously?

Well they should still provide enough AUCs depending on the order quantity, if not then the idea doesn't make any sense at all.

That was my point, I need 2. So I have to add an extra 100$ + shipping.

Where did you get the 821?    Blokforge ships the AUC with each order

"This product contains: 1 X AvalonMiner 821, 1 X AUC3 I2C 5PIN Cable, 1 X Micro-usb cable."

Well this is confusing, maybe they told me it wasn't 1 for 1 anymore but I will receive the 2 for the units I bought but from the next statement, I assume I need to buy them now. (March batch)

This is the answer I got from them => "Canaan used to include AUC with every miner, but no longer will. "

I emailed Canaan to find out about the AUC's.

Essentially they've changed the way they are packaging the equipment. The 821's will come with a 5 pin cable.
The controllers will ship out with 4 AUC's.

Make sense for them seeing as they've designed the miners to only need 4 AUC for every 20 Avalons.

Edit- corrected # of AUC required, and number of AUC's included with a controller

Price will be coming down on these shortly, cannan changed strategy, so demand for AUC will be lower, therefore increase supply, and we can reduce cost.  should have plenty in a few weeks.

I see more stock for the AVALON 821 (SHIPPING 3/26-4/6) batches now.  But... $2900?  Is Canaan fucking high??  Bitcoin is basically at $6000 and they want to charge $2800 for 1 asic miner?  Now it's getting a little ridiculous in pricing.  I understand when miners are high when bitcoin is high, but this is just brain dead marketing now.

Thats pretty whack. I still have about 950 spare AUCs from my inital Avalon 741 order. Guess its good to have back stock if they arent going to give out many. It seems extra messed up because its forcing you to buy their overpriced RPi to get AUCs. Their controllers are even worse because they come in a metal housing that badly overheats in a warm datacenter environment.

edit: What the fuck is going on? $129 for an RPi you can get all day long from amazon for $35, why would anyone pay that much?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

edit2: $50 for an AUC3? These cost Canaan under $2 piece to produce. These prices are criminal.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Unless Blokforge gets a rebate from Canaan/Avalon they already sunk in cost for these at those high prices.  Would be nice if Canaan did a solid and gave everyone that bought a Feb batch a second one for free to make up for the big change in circumstances and give a rebate back of some $$$ to the March orders

I guess they would say that if Bitcoin went to $30k they would of been the ones losing out but not really.. they priced it pretty high to begin with for these batches.  Was going to be near a year ROI even if Bitcoin stayed around $15k

Yea these prices are absurd.  At the rate it's going, in a week it's going to cost basically 1 BTC for 1 asic miner.  LOL.  Canaan really needs to work on marketing.  Unbelievable.

It's hilarious, at 10 cent power you're looking at an ROI of 25 months. I'll be a buyer at under $1k.

CONFESSION: I didn't read back through all the pages of posts

Do we know that the 821's will run on the AUC3 spares that I have from 741s?

The A821 also uses the same AUC3 converter for the I2C communication, so the answer is yes.
