It's a good idea to choose long term because it can get more profit while short term if it feels less profitable because many short-term concern alias not calm.

This comparison is certainly very interesting, but I think that everything is very simple. If you are able to work on the stock exchange you can use short-term investments , but if you do not know how to work at the exchange, welcome to the club of holders. Grin

Long investments simply better short. If for you lack of time you will begin to work that less than. It is here important to guess a moment when that or other currency will grow and to sell it. Most people are preferred by long investments.

Because holding a long term is the safest way and lower risk compared to short tern trading, if you say short term you need to monitor the market value of your holding coins unlike holding long term all you have to do is wait until the price was increase and your profit already was there. Yeah mostly people now preferred to hold that what they have or just go to panic selling.

I think it is depending on the situation of the current coin your trading. Long term and short term trading has different kind of advantages. I hold some coins for long term trading that has the target price for each coin. I too is trading coin on a daily basis and Im going for a short trade that hasn't a target price but Im aiming a good and estimated profit for it.

I prefer short term. I don't like it when my money is idle. I want to run it. I know I must take some risk to gain something. But I think it's too much risky when I go for a long term in crypto world. Nothing is certain here. So, even the profit isn't much I prefer short term cause the risk is also not much.

It depends...  But I opt to go long term especially for those projects that has a big potential. The gains for long term is better but you really have to practice patience and have other income stream,  plus studying the project where you will invest your money is very important so you can be confident that you will gain for long term.

How are you handling your portfolio? How much are risking in % of your portfolio in short term gain vs. Long term gain?
As such, if you get involved, the golden rule is not to invest any more than you can afford to lose. If you have followed this rule then all your investments should be considered long-term, and by long-term, I mean 3–5 years minimum. Why? Simply because the longest bear run we have experienced is two years. Those who invested in Bitcoin in December ’13 and didn’t panic sell during the crash had to wait until early ’17 to be back in profit. Over three years. A bear market can hit us at any point and if it does then the longest we have experienced is two years and this is our benchmark.

First of all investing to somethings doesn't mean that you will earn a profit, there's a high risk you're going to face whenever you're going to invest to something. So the both strategy is profitable but there's always a risk present in trading, so invest only what you can afford to lose. And it's not guaranteed that this strategy will work always, It depends also on the coin in where you're going to invest so you really need to study the coin first or analyze it before start trading.

LONG TERM INVESTMENT
Where in you're going to hold your coin for a long time and you'll withdraw it once you've reach your goal time/price.
High Profit
High Risk
Coins: Bitcoin, Ethereum

SHORT TERM INVESTMENT
Where in you're going to sell your coin once you've earn profit no matter how big or small it is.
Low Profit
Low risk
Coins: Ripple, Litecoin, Dash and other altcoins

Hmmm what is best for this two? I think the best thin to do is for long term because you will see your money is growing and wait for the price get up and trade for the right time than short time.

I do 60-70% long term (xby, ltc, eth, btc) and 30-40% short term (alt coins in top 100) investments. Doing good so far.

ICO    GLUON    It is the first flagship ICO on the Stratis platform and if it is successful it will mean a great deal not only to GLUON but also to Stratis.                                          The project solves this problem. Where do we find ourselves? I think this is the beginning of the path of total automation and against such an interest in virtual reality and unmanned technologies, we will get a smart transport of the future. For the sake of such transformations of reality I am ready to pay    https://www.gluon.com/tokensale/gluid/21/

I would advise you go for long term as long term strategy is always a better alternative and delivers more accurately than short term as Crypto market works more with fundamentals analysis.

So, always make research on the coins you are investing and hold the coin long term so as to deliver good values and profits  to your portfolio .

Its depends on your vision and the situation. If you're expecting that your coin is going to rise in the future (of course you should depend on firm technical analysis), just hold long-term! (like those who hold bitcoin since the day it was about $0.003 (in 2010) till now).

Short term trading is too stressful for me. It would be better to hold longterm. So far it has been working for me (just take the amount of btc that i hold since last months of 2016 as an example and imagine the profit that it brings to me now if i sell them)

if in my portfolio the risk of long-term or short-term portfolio seems more to the short term. because they spend more money in the short term. I do not like to spend too much money.

I believe that you can risk your third portfolio. Another third of the portfolio should be in the most reliable investment tools (now it is bitcoin, in my opinion)
