Because drama sells newspapers...or clicks on a website. This is also the natural progression of human acceptance of a new technology. First people criticize it as a fad, then they say "well I would never need that", then they start to get curious, then they realize the want it, and finally they realize the need it.

We're in the "well I would never need that" phase with a few people starting to get curious.

Bitcoin's been making its epic run all year long. The mainstream media didn't care until August. And when they were reporting in August the news was all about "epic run, it's a fad, it's a bubble, bitcoin fans are foolish!" Now, in December, we're starting to see more articles about the future, the value, and the staying power of Bitcoin.

It's been fun to watch! Don't worry about the mainstream media...worry about your own personal comfort level with Bitcoin.

Most people or news channels that criticize bitcoin and altcoins do so because they do not understand what bitcoin and altcoins are. Why it has become normal for people to judge things they do not know they do not even think before publishing articles that criticize bitcoin and altcoins. You can see some governments that today say they will support bitcoin and tomorrow are in the press to criticize bitcoin. For people who own banks and certain governments who want to have total control of all their citizens so that their people become enslaved to their system, they do not look at bitcoin as a good thing. I myself do not watch certain news channels because they are news channels manipulated by the government or are manipulated by the elite of the political party that commands the country

This actually depends on the media itself. There are some media supporting crypto currencies and some of them is against. As you all know that market is dominantly owned by bunch of whales and each of them own some media organizations. They all control media to manage our fears to control prices.

That is the sickness of all people, we are so quick in judging at one thing or at someone, we manipulate things so that other people will confused on what is the real truth, when one person was a victim of scam and did use bitcoin as an instrument for that scam they would say that bitcoin is a scam they are easily to judge and to jump into conclusions without further studying it.

Not always the media against bitcoin. But even if the news background is negative - know that the news can always be bought and it's all done with a speculative purpose.

Never trust the media. They just want to wreck the reputation of cryptocurrencies for their own favor. Not all the media says about bitcoin is true and the media does not want their country to adapt to technology.

You just missed some of the positive news. I don't know what is your news source but not all news about bitcoin is negative.

And you know not just in bitcoin but in other aspects too, media is always biased e.g politics, propagandas etc. It's usual that we can see some negative views about bitcoin but still where is bitcoin today? It means that even how bad the news is, it's up for the viewers if they will believed on it or not. Also some of the news are meant to create a panic which is somehow a good advantage for those newcomers who wants to risk money at bitcoin for the first time.

Even i am thinking the same. Much media calls bitcoins as a "BUBBLE" which can burst anytime, but I don't think so. Perhaps traditionally only the hard paper money is considered as currency and digital currency such as bitcoins are assumed as fake or scam currency. more than half of the media is now changed as bitcoins are spread too vast but yet there are a number of peoples/media which spreads negative knowledge about bitcoins. Hope it is stopped soon.

Never trust the media. They just want to wreck the reputation of cryptocurrencies for their own favor. Not all the media says about bitcoin is true and the media does not want their country to adapt to technology.

They are just trying to make bitcoin worst in all people, don't mind them that is their job to catch the attention of their reader/watcher so some one will get interested to watch or read to them. I don't take those news seriously instead I am updating myself in the bitcoin news and here in forum.

I think its either yellow journalism or black propaganda. Since many people have shown pessimism and somewhat a negative idea about bitcoin. Any media entity would capitalize on that and support such idea because it's what people want to see. Unfortunately, even the governments of many countries have shown and warned people about how dangerous and the risks the bitcoin market could have, which further validated what the media has spread about bitcoin. I think that's one factor why many people still has a problem with regards to accepting bitcoin fully.

Because first of all bitcoin is kind of a treat to fiat money . journalists get paid with fiat, so its only logical they would be pissed.
Second thing is that they need to creat drama and a way in which they could consistently make articles about . Going against something is the best way to do it.
third thing might be because they are late to the train of investing in the coin ,or they are trying to make the price dump so they can invest

Not sure what is the exact reason behind it but it is surely not as positive as the negative news are! Lol. In my country the bitcoin being taken as dangerous thing as nuclear reactor. They are not liking the concept bitcoin at all because they think that this will increase the corruption in terms of black money. As the bitcoin is decentralised currency and no government really controls it so people might just move their property into bitcoin form and thus make it difficult for tax department to track everything. I mean thats the initial idea behind it and I think political pressure is what makes news channels to go crazy about it and spread the negative news everywhere. This creates the fear in the peoples mind and thus easier for the government to loose extra work load that may arise in the situation. Its possibility scenario. !

Because media can be influenced easily...
And the people who control it are the big politicians and the ones having big business branches thus... It's highly likely that they can influence media the way they want and also it's not weird to hear a news where you see people paying..money...to make such news..
If bitcoins fluorishes..  they will be at a loss.. they won't be able to control the flow of money and the market that is.. decentralized is now increasing and is in billion they just want the power and money to be in their hand.
Also sometimes media just needs... A news.. ! Literally you won't believe ..they can literally.. make nothing into a big ... News..

I do not think all the news in the media is against bitcoin. And do not be too swallow the news in a raw, because not all the news is true and sometimes there is news that is only made up.

This is all natural and they are supporting to all those things which can generate income and which is trending all over the television world. They are against bitcoin as majority is against it as there is lack of knowledge and information among the people about the bitcoin. Many People blindly accepts the rumours spreads by them and they start think negative on, if it is a negative news and they go for positive approach if the news is positive.

Media is always against bitcoin, whether it is electronic or paper media. Because media always need some crisp in news to get maximum attention, rating and viewers. BTW one big reason behind this hate is government and banks who are supporting such activities and want to make bitcoin worthless(which is somehow seems impossible).

The media itself is controlled  by large scale speculators. It is an additional weapon in their arsenal to manipulate price action, thus make tons of money.
