Saw this recently - cointaxguide.com

Sharing this link for US miners. I think its 17 bucks to get the guide.

Don't apply to me because I outside the US

Great mining!

Btw, I manage to snag 10 x Zotac 1080ti MINI from my supplier because the original buyer defaulted on payments.
Had no complains taking the inventory -- I may have to bring back some rigs back home... the warehouse is really maxed out - no Amps left.

taxes? never heard of them.

great snag on those 1080 ti's!

The wife will not be pleased.... I may have to build a rig or two mining to her wallet as a compromise.

Scored a few browny points there.

And a Batch 13 S9 v1 with 2 working blades is still worth less than a jewelry present !  Grin

The knockoff colorful mobo burnt today.

Never felt it was well made. It was like a panda miner board  just 12volt pcie in and pass through to the eight gpus.

Only was pulling 845 watts. Using a server psu.

I ran all cards off the pass through on purpose,

So do not run 800 plus watt that way.

I just found it I will show the board in the morning..

Smells burnt.

Eight 1070s set to 105 watts. Ran two months.

Oh dang that sucks phil!

The D8P is humming away still w/o issue I'm hoping.

What ram are you guys running w/the D8P's?

I was hoping to be able to repurpose a couple of sticks of the Crucial DDR4 2133 1.2v's but I'll take everything to the warehouse tomorrow and see if they fire up. I only received my first batch of ASUS Strix 1080's - first time firing up 1080's but it's all that I found in stock - definitely not happy that they were 8 pin *2 but there's nothing else currently.

My impression on my D8p is that is really well designed/made....   nice thick traces, good etching, layers, attention to detail, etc.   I think the D8P is a winner for 8+ slot large format cards.

none yet;  I was planning on ordering some low voltage ddr4... I have a buddy whom was in the memory business here locally once upon a time, and im just going to source a 16gb stick from him when I finally get my board powered up since I may use this machine for more than just a miner.....

A few very recent car projects have put speed bumps into getting this conversion done to the D8P.    I bought mine out of impulse;  out of all the photos, and different things I was seeing coming out;  it showed the most practical purpose in all aspects.   #1 being the card spacing.   You can stack large format cards and still get enough airflow between them to make cooling them much easier/quieter.

I also got my hands on a chiller: https://www.amazon.com/EcoPlus-Chiller-1-10-HP/dp/B000W4S45C/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1515569216&sr=8-20&keywords=tank+chiller
Primarily for my chemistry hobby, but i wonder how efficient it would be for cooling a gpu loop.....  Probably not practical though.

I've got my home PC on a water-chilled loop.
It's quite a bit more powerful than yours though. 0.1hp is only 75W so it won't be able to keep up with the heat produced by a single GPU...
I've got the 800W version and hooked it up to my CPU+GPU loop. When ambient temps are low (say sub 18C) I can cool down water to 4C for a short amount of time. Quite fun. I've got the highest TimeSpy score on hwbot for chilled 5960x+GTX1080 setups! Cheesy
Obviously not efficient at all for a mining rig.

So you only put it on outside? Is there direct contact to the internal heat source?
Picture of the mod?  Know you on which other server psu it's also possible?

The server PSUs that I like are the HP 1,500w common slot PSU (yellow label on top, takes 220v) and the DPS-2000BB (220v).  I use them with breakout boards, not wires.  You can strap or screw in a heatsink on the HP 1500w units and that will help keep them cool and the fan noise to a minimum.  Easy to fit one of these into a 4U Rosewill case (HP PSU).  Can't speak to the particular one on Ebay.
...

Depends.  In an open rig, simply passive.  Take out six screws, remove the top, apply thermal paste, clamp the heat sink to the top, drill, screw in four screws.  In a 4U, I place the HP along the floor of where a normal ATX power supply would fit and I mount a fan on the outside back of the case to blow cool air over the fins.  You can also zip tie to keep the heat sink in contact with the top of the HP.

I use these heat sinks:

Looking to power (4) rigs in my basement.  Each one pulls about 1100 watts.  Already have ATX power supplies that will take 240v or 120v.  Was trying to figure out how to get enough 15 or 20 amp 120v circuits.  But, I think going 240v is the answer.

I read through this writeup - thanks philipma1957
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2192299.msg22020934#msg22020934

I would buy / install:

30a 240v circuit with L6-30R plug
PDU rated for 30 amps
appropriate power cords

I think I have just enough space on my service panel to do this.  Don't have room for more than two new breakers.

Is this a good plan?

Anyone know where I can find a decent PDU in stock?

As I looked around tonight these things seem almost as hard to source as GPUs.

Doesn't have to be new or fancy, although having one with a meter might be helpful.

onda b250 d8p v1 front panel color codes - probably the same on the d1800. not sure about the battery thing though

I got the v1 D8P board.

In the other thread people were saying you guys are having RAM issues with these they don't like just your standard modules? I never ordered the brand everyone was suggesting, so guess if that's the case these won't get set up any time soon.

worse comes to worse here the the exact ram i use on my d8p v1. and damn the did that price go up. i paid $74

Just got an update from DHL: the 2 Onda D1800 that I ordered before Christmas - and splurged an extra $17 for "premium fast" shipping - are finally on their way...

In other news, I've resigned myself to populating one of the D1800 with GTX 1060 3GB* as that is all I can find in stock without exorbitant price gouging. I just refuse to pay $700+ for a GTX 1070 Ti.

Thanks Phil, you da man!

I only have 4 rigs, not 6.  So can I skip the extension bars and plug each rig's power supply into one of the 4 ports on the PDU?

Edit: wait a minute.  I'm thinking 240v, the first eBay link the pic of the devices says 120v.  I need 4 x 1100 watts or 4400 watts.  Was thinking 30a at 240v for 7700 watts derated by 80% to 5760 watts.
