I was just debating which coin to point my equihash rigs at tonight. I thought BTCP sounded interesting but this thread is SO full of FUD I think I might just head over to Komodo, or Zencash.

Honestly - what is the point of BTCP? There are so many coins out there now with bitcoin in their name, and so many privacy coins - is there anything to make BTCP stand out at all? Or any reason to think it has any promise? I could mine/buy Komodo, Zcoin, Deeponion, even Dash if I wanted privacy, right? And who wants another bitcoin named coin... bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold, bitcoinz & bitcoin private - getting a bit cliche no?

In it's present state, not much reason to invest time/money/hash to this coin.  But, if they ever get a clue and bring someone on with some business sense and get rid of CryptoJake and Rett, it could do fairly well.

It's really amazing that they have failed so hard. It took some real arrogance and stupidity. They had some good tech (z-snarks, upcoming segwit/lightening/bip9 etc...), they had a very large percentage of the crypto world watching and following closely, they had millions of dollars for listing, a team of devs, and they still completely screwed the pooch and manage to just keep making enemies and getting pwnd.

So basically, it's worth watching.  There is always a chance that a few devs start to get a clue and suggest a change in course. But if they keep doing the same crap they've been doing, they will keep getting the same results.

I worked well on fork , bought zcl for pennies in december and sold for $200, waited, before the fork I to bought zcl for $76 and sold for $80 immediately after fork, then I sold btcp for $ 120 and not badly earn, and all profit exchanged to usd, DO NOT HOLD profit money in coins, coins are not stable
Now from the profit part, I cheaply bought btcp, I believe in btcp, it will go up in any case, when bitcoin and other coins go to the moon

Everything from these developers, from whalecoin, to zclassic to bitcoinprivate. Nothing has a real use case, nothing has brought a significant innovation to the space. At first I thought whalecoin was in a good track but obviously after months of stagnant development I'm sure that this team doesn't care about investors or project development, only in opportunities to make big buck.

Of course, there are many advantages, but there are no large exchanges yet. And what is more important than large turnover is early to say that the market has appreciated, it is possible that a collapse will begin and everything will move from negative to negative.

Completely agree with you mv1986, expectation definitely unmet.  There are multiples of whammies going on, cryotos has been hammered by many, many issues from all directions (regulatory, supply chain, mining, trustworthiness, scammers, implementation speed etc.).  BTCP is no exception.

I do think its ingenious to bring in both BTC and ZCL community together.  Once the naysayers are done with their negativity and selling, the only place to go is up.

It's very questionable in my eyes if you consider the way those communities were brought together. It was a smart rip-off. Calling it ingenious is quite exaggerated. Greed pushed them to make that decision. They could have just forked Bitcoin without bringing in ZCL, but since they didn't have a lot of BTC they wouldn't be big enough in the game so they opted to sacrifice ZCL and with it every person that didn't play the fork game right.

Yeah, this coin would do well if they just canned Rhett and Jake the snake.  You're right about Rhett, he made his fortune on one of the biggest pump and dump schemes in recent history.  He not only had his own huge bags of ZCL but had a ton of "donation" coins to dump on the market.  He's got Lambos and hoes, and BTCP can't even pay for a single decent exchange listing.

And now, Jake the snake bans one of the few people on the team that was trusted, for stating an obvious truth that we already knew !!!    What a mess.  I guess it's just the weekly drama.  Last week Jake was pissing off Bittrex and burning that bridge, so todays target was BestServerNA.  My crystal ball says he will burn the Hitbtc bridge next.

There is no better way to confirm that the emperor wears no clothes, than to ban anyone and everyone who states otherwise.  Time to ban Jake the snake and get someone in there with a clue, that can take this coin down the road of success.

People in US can file complaint with SEC cause they collected 50K ZCL via mining and probably dumped on market to crash severely around BTCPoop birth.

There is still hope for BTCP holders but in the long run. Its stupid to dump at that price if you want to trade with small margins ok. Will see what will happen when the crypto market start to recover and the prices start to go up once again.
