Got one block mined with a 2x7950 rig today. Smiley

Which XPM GPU miner you are using?
Did you made any optimization or changes on the mtrlt miner that was released?
Can you show your mined block?

Thanks.

I am sorry, but this is too funny not to post.  Urushiol posted this in #eligius-prime.

<Urushiol> man, mtrlt … there are some dicks out there
<Urushiol> I have to commend you on maintaining your composure through all this. I can't imagine the pressure you've been under. I would have cracked a while ago and told the naysayers to get bent.
<Urushiol> I hope you don't feel discouraged. The fact is that you were the one to take the initiative to do something and actually came out with something. Nobody else did.

ohhhh the pressure!!!! THE PRESSURE!!!!
pfff... what a joke!

The miner doesn't even work.

He has initiative... initiative to scam everyone.

Hahah the mad is strong with this one.

Don't like taking risks and losing? Get the fk out of crypto.

Is this topic of butt hurt ppl crying or we wana see better GPU support for XPM???

If anyone is unhappy PM mrlt and cry, we don`t care no one forced anyone to donate, even if it helped to start with GPU in any state is gr8!

I hope someone open a new topic and ppl could help, and not read garbage

If you didn't pay him then be quiet.  You don't even belong here.

This pathetic excuse of a miner doesn't qualify as a valid effort on his part and it certainly doesn't constitute as "early beta access".  If he was honest, he would admit that he wasn't successful, because current CPU-only solutions, HP10, outperform his software and he would refund everyone who paid him.

He will never improve any of the code he released.  If he intended on improving his program, he would not have released this and claimed this counted as "early beta access".  He is just removing the responsibility from himself and taking everyone's money in the process.

I'm sick of everyone saying that everyone who gave him money deserved to be scammed.  Don't you realize that we are the same people that agreed to fund this project for everyone?!  All we wanted was one week early access so that we would get some benefit in return.

Yeah you wanted early access, low diff, high price, performance and no one promised anything of that at all!

And you compare HP10 but you know optimization in last month was >300% for CPU, diff got ~1000% up, price is down

mrlt made one mistake he sad it will be finished in few days/week and it took more, but still you may be unhappy, but stop trolling crap we don`t care

Some of you have big GPU farms so possible big profit and now nothing.... so what, also most ppl grouped privately and shared 1BTC donation, its not like each of you gave whole BTC but a lot less, and thets why we sow leak...

It's already released, it's safe and you can compile it yourself. Go grab it: http://cryptobro.com/reaperprime.zip

Edit:
Don't forget to say "Thanks" to all the good people who donated, without their sacrifice the rest of us would not have this.

No one has anything now!  This miner is garbage. He didn't develop anything worthy.

Calm down man, I was just ironic pissing off those greedy fools who hoped to gain advantage over somebody by donating. Hats off to honest donators who did it not only for themselves but for the community. Asking for donations back is so ridiculous beyond words to describe.

I'm sorry, but you must be a complete fool.  Why would I donate money to develop something without reaping a financial gain???  It's not like he's saving babies or feeding the homeless.

Mtrlt obviously made a large financial gain off of this scam.  Why is it so terrible that everyone that gave him money expected a financial gain?

I donated because I expected him to make an effort to deliver a decent product.  It's obvious that he didn't even try.
Let's see... I donate to Red Cross... no financial gain.  I donate to MDA... no financial gain.  I donate to the MS society... no financial gain.

Donations are made for many reasons, to finance research and development it the main reason.  How efficient was the first GPU miner made for BTC?  I remember reading someone offered 10,000BTC to open source it.

Get off your high horse already, the hard part has been done, let the optimization work begin.

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"
I embrace my inner Kool-Aid.

Cool ... if u can post your configs that would be great..also what M rating where u getting with your 2 x 7950's ??

I now see that the "ripper"  uses the cpu for a % of the calcs ..so if u have a L145  AMD chip in a rig it may a non - starter

Why is it so difficult for people to understand what an "early beta" is?

Who here was around at the launch of primecoin? Remember how horrifically slow the first miner was? Well, it didn't seem that way, but comparing that to the latest high performance miners, it was abysmal. But the code was written, and then other people stepped into the gap.

Fast forward now. You made a DONATION for the guys time, and he promised early access to the beta release. That he even produced it was a feat, anyone that says otherwise, well, where's the GPU miner you developed? Thought so. You got your working beta; betas are never complete pieces of software- they often lack features (say, support for lots of people's different configurations) and aren't necessarily optimized. That comes later in the process.

But, even if he turns out not to be the one that produces the fully optimized code, he built the framework so that others can start working in in that. But you don't even know, for all anyone here knows, he's already working on optimizations. I'm not even a programmer, and I seem to have more of a clue about the software development process. I'll note that I did beta test a lot of Mac graphics software in the 90's, however..,

just because you don't like the end result doesn't mean it's a scam

After so many threads being opened up,speculating that he ran off with the money, you all owe him a huge apology; clearly he was working after all.maybe, just maybe, the code is as optimized as it will ever be, and gpus are useless for mining; that still doesn't negate the fact that he we t and did the work that demonstrated that. Remember, primecoin is a completely different beast than bitcoin; just because bitcoin could be made to run like a bat out of hell on gpus (compared to CPUs), there was zero assurance in the process that a primecoin miner would do the same. But, again, he did the work porting a CPU miner to run on a gpu, nobody but nobody else has accomplished even that.

Basically, shut up and give the guy a break. He delivered exactly as promised, and being that "beta" means "not yet complete" and NOT "100% done, but just letting a few people play around it before everyone else does", in all likelihood he's continuing to work on it. Frankly, though, Given this reaction, I would applaud him if he either ceased development altogether or went ahead and finished it and said "sorry guys, the miner is running great, but I'm just going to run it on my private gpu farm, because my computers don't complain and spread libel about me"

You guys give this place a bad name. And why in the world would a future developer want to embark on something to potentially benefit all of us if this is the thanks they get for it?

Relax. You donated to a cause. He worked on that cause.whether that cause would even be fruitful was a big question. But clearly no one was scammed; the guy wanted to be paid for his time, you all lined up and paid, he spent that time, that you don't like the outcome does not imply you should be refunded. After all if you wanted a refund, you should pay with PayPal and stay far, far away from crytocyrrencies, because they protect developers from exactly these sorts of situations.

What is the power usage like ?
Is the GPU under full load ?

My rig is 3x7970+7950+6950.
While mining scrypt, it consumes ~1300W from wall socket
While mining primecoin with default config - ~750W, with work_size 128 - ~800W

mtrlt promised early access to the beta. So all you guys can't deny that everybody here is in it for the profit. What's more important is that mtrlt used this as his main argument to get in more "donations" "Donate now, mine one week before the rest." So NO "donate so we can support this great new coin, I'm sure we all do it for believing in this greater good".

Who cares if it's call donations or payment?  So to hell with all your "you don't know what a donation is" bs. The idea all the time was that mtrlt was going to deliver to the donators a nicely working beta - sure a beta, but no alpha. An alpha is what is released.

Did he release the source code so other can try to finish his work?

I got Reaper to compile under Ubuntu Server 13.04. I have to leave for school now though. I'll upload a new version once I get back.

Hey I didn't get my miner. Huh I posted about my donation in the original topic and also pm.

I meant to work on the miner after school but I was dead tired, went straight to sleep.

This is how I built Reaper on Ubuntu 13.04 server:

First! Redownload the miner from the link I gave you. There should be a VERSION file that says it's beta 2.

sudo apt-get install build-essential cmake libgmp-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev dh-autoreconf pkg-config libjansson-dev
download & install AMD's (or Nvidia's) OpenCL SDK

download bitcoin-libblkmaker from
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55025350/bitcoin-libblkmaker.zip
and extract it to the directory where the miner sources are.
then do this:
{
   cd libblkmaker
   make clean
   ./autogen.sh
   make
   sudo make install
   cd ..
}

Then, just run cmake-linux.sh.

Let me take a wild guess that you DID not "DONATE" !!

I really dont care anymore about it ..I just cant stand people trying to rewrite history ..especially when they where not involved or had no financial stake in the process and then go on to tell me how it is ...yeah right

Oh and explaining to me what a BETA is ..I have been coding before most of you where even born literally so unless you are 25+ years old shut the fuck up about what a BETA is..... what he released WAS NOT A BETA PRODUCT !!!

A 1-1 CPUtoGPU miner (perfomance wise) would have slingshoted primecoin ...but alas this is not to be @ this point in time.... As i am over it ..

Hey Mtrlt,

Any info on how to fix the appcrash? seems many of us here are experiencing that.

Hi mtrlt, I had beta 1 working fine on ubuntu.  Now I'm getting "Error: Error getting OpenCL device IDs".  I kept my old conf file so that hasn't changed.  Any ideas?

edit: fixed the above my setting DISPLAY=:0

However I'm now getting
Code:
Using devices 0, 1
OpenCL device 0........
Compiling kernel... this could take up to 2 minutes.
