I also doubt that they will continue manufacturing these boards when GPU mining is almost about to exit. I feel for the company behind this and i can imagine that they've invested a lot of capital into developing these boards.

Hopefully they've been able to recoup at least their initial investment on these octominer boards. It is actually a good product.

let me guess, you gave up GPU mining back in 2013 when the first asics released....

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

hey Octo, can you find out the maximum power rating per pci-e slot on the Octo board with all auxiliary power connections being used? Can they handle 75w?

Sounds like a software issue.
Please boot up with HIVE OS on USB stick and see if it detects 8 of the Vega GPU.

Please email us at info@octominer.com and our tech support team will get back to you on how to get 8 GPU working.
Thanks.

We have some clients running 8x Vegas on our systems. VEGAs are very picky GPUs in general and there might be a need to change some settings in BIOS.
Please email us for support.
Thank you.

One thing i noticed:

When you dont have monitor attached to vga port of octoboard and reboot device -> login with remote desktop like Anydesk, you will get black screen. Once monitor connected again and reboot it works OK. I guess no other solution than get VGA dummy / emulator

Actually find solution to this one, I think its not problem with the board but more or less with Intel HD Graphics 510 driver. DDU that (so it comes "microsoft basic display adapter" or so) and no more black screen after boot Smiley

Im having trouble with my miner. Been mining about 3 weeks now. I have 4 1080 tis on the board and it has already burned up a surge protector (causing the breaker to trip) and now I have it on a different circuit. Its making the 6ft extension cord at the wall hot. The most Im seeing it pull is 900 watts with watt meter. I have 15 amp circuits with nothing else but a overhead led bulb on it. The 2200 watt PSU does not say its rated for 110 (says 176-264v)  but Octominer rep told me it was fine to use. I have another non-octominer miner I built months before that runs the same amount of watts and does not get my plugs hot. Im worried about it burning my house down.  My guess is its the PSU. Anybody? TY

Hey!
Could be that the PSU you got was damaged during shipping and for some reason is working unstable.
Please email the problem description to our email and also include a picture of the PSU and your mining rig setup.
info@octominer.com

Our tech support team will get in touch with you and if needed we will ship you a replacement PSU! Smiley

Have you tried a pci-e based fpga card yet? You have confirmed the slots can supply 75w but what speed is your usb slots? These cards need usb apparently, im willing to sacrifice 1 usb for no mouse/keyboard.

Hey!

We are currently still waiting to get our sample of the XILINX FPGA card.
I will post updates once we have tested it.
