Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success?

I don't think so  because most telegram ICO brings people into their telegram channel using airdrop to bring them in. they are not there for the seek of the project but to get airdrop. So you see telegram I dont think it should be used to measure ICO success

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

In my own opinion, telegram is one of the reason why there are a lot of ico's that is being successful today and the value of their payouts as well is also a decent amount after the sale so sometimes i prefer to join campaign with telegram because most of the investors are focusing on a legit ico.

I do not think the telegram is a tool to help the ICO project succeed. Telegram is an anonymous indirect exchange tool and the group manager of the project will have to answer all the questions of the group members.
Spam components will be kicked out of the group. So there will be no advertisement here.
I think facebook and twitter are two social networking sites promoting the best ICO projects. I have found some very great projects promoted on facebook.

Telegram also provides very handy bot services, which allow to automate registration, verification and other actions for ICO participants.

I think its a factor for the ICO success because you have many followers who is interested in your project/ICO. This is the way were the investors and supporters can interact with the developer and this is also the way to know fresh news about what is happening in your ICO.

Most telegram groups are useless, people asking the same questions not even bothered to look at the pinned message. Most common question is When moon? Is it moon? C'mon "coin_name" do something, When lambo? and stickers with Pepe the frog. Sometimes posting dancing people when slight price increase.
The only one I stay beside bounty and airdrop ones is Nexus coin group. Very mature community and people are helpful. Unfortunately, main support is on Slack, which I hate for vulnerability to spam. Telegram is a great platform, but most groups are toxic and immature.

Yes its one of the factor to be consider but not most of the time in my opinion. What we consider here in telegram is the community. A big community means more people being reach which translates to more investors as possible. Whether  it is a telegram community, Facebook, Discord or slack. As possible its better to reach potential investor in different medium as many as you can reach.

It is amazing how things change in cryptocurrency ecosystem.  Before  now it was slack that provide social presence for ICO then slack started allowing bot to phish a lots of users account and now there is migration of crypto enthusiast to telegram.  Many successful ICO hold part of their success to telegram and this trend is going to continue.

It is now part of the success of an ICO. The more members in that group means, a lot of people are beleieving and spreading the news about that ICO. These members also commonly are the investors in the ICO. Likewise, the members are also the investigating people behind the ICO is it is scam or not.

It definetely is. I cannot believe that you could be an ICO investor or even crypto investor without having access to Telegram. So much groups with 40 000+ people who are manipulated and you have to make proper conclusions.

I believe telegram these days contributes the success of a certain Ico. People joined mostly in telegram to know the updates of the project. Also, good to joined telegram groups you will know the whole development without it you are blank to the next step of an Ico.

No, the telegram is just a forum from where we know the status of the ICO because it is the way of intervention between the investor, the bounty hunter and the ICO's manager. For me the measurement of ICO's success is the status of of the pre sale and public sale of it is successful.

Let me clarify a bit more concerning this topic.
If ICO has only Telegram announcement channel - unfortunately it won't tell you much about the ICO.
But if there is ICO community chat, you should obviously join it and spend time to see:
1) how ICO admins do their job;
2) regularly thumb through the chat history, because it may hide crucial details in the depth;
3) hear investor's opinions and experience.
Al this will give you much more details about ICO than any copy/pasted roadmap or fake social media profiles of ICO team.

Most ICOs use Telegram as a channel to interact with their communities.I think,Telegram becomes popular as the estimator tool of choice for the traders.Telegram is set to run the largest token sale in the history of ICOs. Industry players note that should this ICO succeed, it will send a strong message about the potential of blockchain technology.For that telegram,in my personal opinion is the new measurement of an ICO project success.

For me Telegram is just one indicator. In General the use of Social Media is important for new Projekts but will Not guarantee the Success of the project. Most important will stay the roadmap and content the project itself is providing.
