I dont really think so. There are thousands of measurement. Not just telegram. It's only a mere small percentage of the measurement. I have sent lots of ICO with low members thrive.

Yes, i think it is one of the criteria for measuring successful ICO. People joined mostly in telegram to know the updates of the project. If more people talking about the ICO project, means that there are more potential participants.

No, I believe this is definitely not a measure of the success of ico.
There are too many fake members in the telegram of many projects.
And on the contrary, you must be wary of the ico thier number telegram is very high.

it's part of the marketing concept, and it's also a benchmark for successful sales, not just telegram, many followers in other social media are random, but the goal remains the same that investors are more interested in the community crowd, if the telegram project has many members, many will actively communicate in it, no need to feel skeptical about it.

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/telegram-followers-the-new-metric-for-cryptocurrency-success/

now no longer applies to me
developers using airdrop as a quick way to add a telegram follower channel or enliven the group
when I enter the group, and it turns out that is discussrop is aidrop, no one discussed the project

To an extent, telegram is the major determinant of a project success. For example now, an active telegram group with a large number of members shows how good the project with their marketing strategy. Also the activities and interaction happening in the group shows how active the project community is. An active project community tends to do well. To me it's a major determinant of a project success.

it can be abused by the existence of telegram bots. but i often see the ICO that have many telegram users.
it is indeed a successful ICO. i hope this measure can be used for investors to invest on ICO.

I don't think so because if a coin fails it's Telegram could still be huge even though it's irrelevant.

Telegram is just a platform for interaction between investors or participants and the project owners. I don't think it has a bearing on the success of the bounty. There are so many bounty campaigns that have lots of Telegram participant that have been unsuccessful.

Telegram advantages among other social media platforms are they might set a regulation along the group, limitations of participants, off-topic and spammers will be controlled. However, they may not reach those person whose preferrably become an investors at your project unlike the global presence of facebook, twitter and else.

Having a Telegram account means you are particular with security. Telegram is known for having a great respect to their users identity or personal information. Its a great tool for communication and instant broadcasting of ICO updates. Telegram have a huge number of followers. I know big companies are using Telegram as their way to communicate delicate information to their employees.

I could say that's not always become a measure of successful ICO. But at least, don't join any ICO which only have a Telegram Channel. Telegram group is better because we can communicate directly with team members. There are many tricks which done by ICO team. They usually arranged an Airdrop first to gain more members coming in. So, basically, you can't define which the real investor or only bounty/airdrop participant in that telegram group. But that tricks not always a bad idea. Sometimes ICO with big telegram members can spread the hype and can expose their project to other members.

I think the number of telegram members didn't determine the success of an ICO. sometimes there are telegram channels that have no original member, there is also a spam invite to the telegram contact in another telegram channel
