As I know Telegram is one more social media platform to connect with investors and other traders as a way of communication. It is now really renown for many investors which is used in many countries of the world, and in some of them as in mine completely know about it. In Telegram, the members of the team will update about the project they are joining, thus, it must be a new measure for ICO now.

I think it depends on why there are so many cable members. I know that there are programs that launch the telegraph airdrops and a lot of fake followers, and we can see a lot of pointless discussions there.

No questions.  There are a lot of people in the telegram who understand this technology.

That's not true, telegram is just a place of easy communication with some people wherever they are. Telegram users are also capable of being manipulated by multiple parties. They can at any time eliminate themselves from groups they make. Telegram is far from guaranteeing the success of an ico.

About the updates and the stuff - some of ICOs are just stating their effort that they have made on their website, not in the group, but it, as you said - has to be active.

I think it is a pointer to chances the ICO will be successful but it is only one element of the overall picture.
Some of the Telegram groups are bloated with bots and dead accounts there may be 50000 members in there but only 50 or 100 people actually communicating....  Huh

In my opinion is just a hype created along telegram and this is nothing new as last years slack was on power now it's telegram and who knows what it will be next year so don't get to hyped of this telegram train as it boomed just because every crypto project is there.

The reason why there are these huge groups with (almost) nothing happening is that you can now also buy telegram members. And apparently some projects felt the need to do so. I am not sure if there are tools where you can test how many real vs fake members...

The success of Telegram fees depends directly on the fact that Pavel Durov is today a very famous person, who in turn is the head of this project, it turns out that people just trusted their investments to this guy.

I would say that nowadays having Telegram for an ICO project is like a standard but I find it useful as a tool for monitoring the project's success and identifying whether it attracts a lot of participants.

I dont think so. Telegram user numbers are sometimes bot heavy but the main reason i think this is not a great measure is because of the volume of bounty hunters. A telegram group can be 8000K one day then blow to 50K on an airdrop announcement. The bounty hunters rarely buy in at ico so a large group crypto can still 1. not sell big at ico 2. not be supported at exchanges 3. drop like a stone once bounty hunters cash in (because they don't hold like an investor)

To date, only EOS and Telegram have achieved this impressive success. ICOs that can attract more than $ 1 billion are unique projects.

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/telegram-followers-the-new-metric-for-cryptocurrency-success/

Actually not, telegram is one of the way to find legitimate users and not multi account, in this way the ico's can find more people to join their bounty campaigns with a legit participants.

I saw a lot of projects with more than 30k members in there but they can not even reach the softcap, that is the reason of why a lot of people stopped looking and taking the telegram members as reference, since most of them are inflated with fake bots

Well, it seems you can buy fake telegram members and I already visited groups with 50+ participants and only few posts were made, so I was sure most of them were fake. And if a project uses these kind a tricks it's probably just a money grab

In my view, Telegram is indeed a reference standard, but most of the time I only care about ICO project discussions on telegram and this ICO review website requires that the new ICO have more participants in the telegram so they can include ICO, this is measured by the participants in a telegram so that the new ICO will be listed or displayed.

No, telegram cannot use to be the measurement for a successful ICO or not. The thing that could be a measurement is the funds that already raised and the project it self.

besides reviewing the project from token sale I also judged a project from the number of telegram members, if the telegram member reached +20k the possibility of the project including success because many participants, but the member is not from join from airdrop

I think it measures the efficiency of the ICO the most, the telegram of an ICO is one of but many form of social media platforms that can affect its success and its success would not primarily rely on it but still it is a very efficient platform of keeping everyone who participated in that ICO updated.
