Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.

Holding is the option we can do while everything are falling. We are forced to hold our coins because we believe on one thing about cryptocurrency, that it is volatile and we believe that there's the same force that whenever there's a dip there should be pump, and on the other way around.
We hold our coins because we believe that when it soon be over then we will still get our same amount of investments and even higher.
To those investors and holders like me that has full-time job career, we are still on the right call because are still able to feed and support our family while everything's falling down.

as for me, what i do when market is falling is that I hold on to the coins i already had before the fall, but i will start a whole new trading with the new prices using different funding. If investors/traders have already a large scale of knowledge inside this industry, then for sure they will buy more while the price was falling knowing that
there's a big bounce back to happen after holding for some time then it will bring benefits to their ends, investors always do the right thing, keep studying
and analyzing when to place an entry and what would be the target gains.

Holding everything is for mugs, there's plenty of scope for coins to collapse further, there is no support for most untll they reach early to mid 2017 prices.  Bitcoin and the other big boys probably have another sell spree in them, if no other reason than lack of people willing to buy.  A lot of people have been burnt and be wary.

I don't think there are tactics needed when the market is falling sharply. It's best to just stay in the sidelines and wait it out until there are clear signs of price reversal.

I think the tactics of falling market prices are to buy when the price drops 20% -30% and sell it until the price increases by 10% -20% so we get a little profit but with a small risk too.

I think you are too late to stop because the market price is too far, you better hold what you have and buy lots of cheap altcoin potentially then take a little profit to cover your losses
