If you use a JSON file to access Myetherwallet and you lose your password, you lose your wallet.

I forgot my MyEtherWallet password. I don't see "forgot password" in MyEtherWallet website. Is this means that I can't change my password anymore? Anyone have suggestions about this matter? Kindly share it to me please. Thanks!

This password encrypts your private key. This does not act as a seed to generate your keys. You will need this password + your private key to unlock your wallet.

Until now I don't understand the use of passwords when creating myetherwallet, when I want to transfer ethereum or tokens with a private key, there doesn't need a password, so I think if losing a password this doesn't matter.

For safety reasons, instead of opening your myetherwallet using password you can also use your private key in opening but I am telling you to be very careful when you're going to input your private key. Why ? There are lot of phishing sites that may get your key. If thay happened they can open your account and transfer all your tokens.

The most important thing is the security of your keys to your wallet MEW. Keep them in a safe place, better transfer them to paper. Also install an additional app - EAL or MetaMask or Cryptonite. This is information on the security of your wallet MyEtherWallet.

My condolences to you! Currently, it is very difficult to recover passwords! You should be more careful next time or try the password you think might be used!

Do you mean you forgot your MEW password for decrypting your keystore / json file ?
I think there are some program that you can use for brute-forcing your password, as long you have your MEW keystore file.

If you lost your private key, I think that restoration is impossible.
If everyone can recover easily, the hacking damage will also increase.

You don't need any password for Myetherwallet account. What you to need to access your wallet is your private key that might saved on your computer or phone when registering.

Are you sure on what you're talking about ? In MyEtherWallet you don't need a password all you need to access your wallet is your private keys. You can't change it. Private key is the most important to secure your assets from there, if private key lost your funds will also lost.

This is not a big deal, you just need to re-import the wallet and then you can reset the transaction password.

Maybe by making a new myetherwallet will be the right and fast solution. For events that you experience, don't repeat them again. You must be more careful and save your password in a safe place. You are responsible for the security of your own account.

password? to my knowledge, Myetherwallet does not use a password, you just have to save Jason file or Private key, but if that is what you mean and you lose it, then your wallet will not be able to access. to withdraw, transfer or make a deposit

No there is not any chance to recover your password. You can access your account if you have private key now. Myetherwallet never hold your password or your private key. That means in case you loss your password or private key you lose your account forever. If you have private key, I like to suggest create a new account and write your private key and password on hard paper. Then transfer you all token from old wallet to new wallet. If you don't have access of your old account than just forget about your fund. One thing you can try, you can try your all password that you using on there wallet or website. Try to remember. If match than you are lucky. For future not only Myetherwallet , write your all wallet password on safe place like hard paper. So if you forgot password it will help you. Best of luck.

MyEtherWallet actually gives a private key to access your password. If you have lost your key I'm sorry there is no other way to access your wallet except try to find out where you put your key. Try to find in deleted files or somewhere like this.

That is why it is highly recommended that you always have a hard copy and a soft copy back up with your wallet key and password, it is best if you always have your USB or your hard disk drive to keep your important files.

Next time save your password properly. You can also save private key and json file in a safe place in order to prevent both hack attacks and this case while you forget your password

There is no password for Myetherwallet, only the password for the json file you have. If you forgot this password and did not back up your private key, say goodbye to your eth address. Next time do not forget to back up all your information.

All I can say to you is Sorry for the loss because Myetherwallet doesn't give access to anyone but the owner only. And the owner need only the password or the Key in other to open it. Next time be sure to handle your private key wisely and make as many as you can a backup of private keys so that you may not able to forget it again.

Really can't help about forgetting the password on MyEtherwallet.
Just a suggestion, you need to make a new Myeherwallet wallet.
It has been explained on the Myetherwallet site that myetherwallet cannot recover a wallet when it forgets a password. It is best to protect your private key and keep it in a safe place.
