When I first started bitcoin. I was so confident of being scam because I am an business course student in college that I though I cannot be scammed. I was new to bitcoin and learn a little from it. The wrong move was my knowledge about bitcoin was too low and not enough. One concept I did not learn is all about HYIP or High Yield Investment Platforms. I was deceived and invested money out there without any hesitation my money could lose because I already withdrawn some of it. Through days passed by, I cannot open my account already and realized I was scammed. I stopped bitcoin because of that. One thing I realized from that was in investing, you should be very curious and do some further research. A little research and investigation would not do. Do a great reserch and be skeptical always. Be mindful and vigilant.

I've been scammed a few times since I was here. It mostly happened a few years ago :
- Sharexcoin was a cryptocurrency exchange a long time ago, the guy ran away with the coins. This was nice project with its own cryptocurrency (like binance coin). It was promising until the guy left and closed everything  Cheesy Lost 0.3 BTC or something like this. Sadly this was almost everything I had left at this period, so I really felt bad.

If we consider exchange closure as scam :
- I lost 0.15 BTC on MtGox, I didn't really care as this wasn't such value
- Lost a bit on cryptsy closure, don't know how much but I had almost nothing on this exchange.

- And I wanted to invest in coindash, but there was some red flags, like a wrong certificate on the website. I've chosen to not invest, which was a good choice. Seems like the devs weren't scammers as the project is still here, so the website was maybe truely hacked.
- I installed once a wallet which had a virus, fortunatly this was on a VM so I lost nothing   Tongue

... And lost a lot in pump and dump in 2014, I was completely newbie and these pumps were much more agressive than now.

I was almost scammed by someone in the telegram chat because they are claiming they are the manager of the ICO and they said that if I want to be in their whitelist I need to pay some dollars for it. It's too suspicious so I asked the admin directly then they said they are not asking for something in their whitelist.

I almost got scammed on twitter by a fake account. Scammers are setting up fake accounts pretending to be other people/ICO's/Tokens. It's very tricky if you are not paying attention. Make sure you check spelling on all names to be correct. Be careful who you give your info to. Even if it's just your email address. Scammers will not stop scamming so watch out and pay close attention to what you are signing up for. Good Luck everyone and be safe!

I was scammed before by ETHRADE. I invested 1.10 ethereum to them it was september before, then suddenly they declaire that they are bankrupt because of hacking BTC-E where they trade and by the time of deep of bitcoin. From now and then i dont believe anymore at investments sites/platform. I also use to join ONPAL and get scammed my 7k pesos im so stupid before theres a lot of scammer online so be careful. Atleast now i learned from my mistake.

I was nearly scammed by a fake website of the binance. Sometimes I will search the exchange in the search engine but not go to the address directly. So take care of the results of the search engine.

as soon as I started to delve into crypto, I realized that here they earn not only on volatility but also on deception. I really hope that soon the law will be more rigid and all scammers will close

Nope, I wasn't. It's a very hard thing to do to stay calm and think carefully when somebody offers the best deal of the entire live. To be honest I'm trying to reduce risks to zero during such kind of offers and just avoid them. Of course you can say that I can miss some valuable opportunity by this, but anyway it's my life and my decisions are only in my charge.

I’ve had people try on telegram but I educated myself and I don’t fall for any of it now. Most people impersonate admins

I will say that attempts have been made. I have been forward phishing sites through emails and discord channel when participating in ICO's, but if you don't rush into things and take a moment before sending money or clicking on links, you should be fine imo. Always cross check and don't be casual is my advice.

there are security measures that are worth doing. If you are careful, it is difficult to be deceived. I personally was not deceived. If there were risks, then I knew about them and knew what I'm on. No more information on the Internet. Not for what.

Once bought scam ICO tokens, but it made me more experienced, and the main thing I've known, if you invest, get ready to possible failure

I'm a lucky person, experienced two scammer ICO, namely Oren and Benebit. Anyone got luckier?

My luck was to avoid scammers. I hope not to meet them ever. I am very cautious when dealing with ICOs (although I do not do it often), and I try to check everything before taking a decision to invest.

Scammers contact me every single day in Telegram. They start with "Hey user". What a lame and obvious approach. They are my greatest entertainment. I joke with them and mock them severely.
I really like your approach. it's great. This way is really a good way to annoy them.

Scammers message me on telegram everyday. Sometimes when I enter an ICO group I see a lot of PM claiming they are the group moderator. The funniest part is that you easily know that they are scammers from their approach.

I never experience being scammed by anyone. Always check and pay attention to detail when buying coins or joining bounty campaigns. Also be aware on the information you give to surveys or applications forms. The number of scammers is high and we should all be alert whenever someone messages us or offer us something, check for the validity of the coin or product being offered to avoid getting scammed.

Way back two years ago, when I am just new to crypto ecosystem, a lot of investment sites or commonly known as HYIP are so enticing to join and being a newbie, I immediately join thinking that I found a gem since I don't have to work but just wait for my daily payment. I did receive some payment but later on the site is gone so that's my first time being scammed. I joined in doubler sites as well because I didn't learn from my first mistake and then they are gone as well. When I don't have money to invest anymore, I just decided to stop for a while and then search for more information about cryptocurrencies and found this forum which is the real gem.

There are still so many investment sites in social media up to now and some even disguise as ICOs so that they can scam many investors. It would be the fault then of the investors if he decided to invest without doing a proper research. We should always do our due diligence when it comes to investing because there are a lot of scammers lurking around.

A lot of it Cheesy

When I was  just starting, I am hook to HYIP Programs and we, most of it are scam. Last time a year ago, I was scam with someone from Facebook saying I have a bonus for holding  xlm. I did sign-in from the link he gives,  only to find out that it was not legit. Its too late, he got my balance. I am thankful that  its only a small amount. To all reading this, be always careful from offers by stranger. Verify always if its legit.

Same here , I almost joined an ICO which later on appears that the whole team in the project listed were fake profiles good thing I've been checking their thread and was saved by people in the comment sections who uncovers the truth. Its hard to trust ICOs nowadays but I still do since they are profitable but right now I am taking extra measures before doing so.

If you don't want to be one of the victim of scam always be aware on what are you joining for example mining there  so many cloud mining they called it that was one of the scammer if someone was texting or calling you to register or login or invest ignore them because of they are scam to be aware on some of scammers always check the background more research about that site get a feedback to aware you if it is or not.
