You can't getting good and realistic idea about the ICO project without reading the whitepaper carefully, it is a must in fact. The whitepaper show you if the project is professional, having attractive and genuine concept or not, and as a result you can notice if it is worth investing or not.

Sure, every time, I am not one of those who just follows hype whatever project is, I am ready to invest in some good solid projects that I think will have a great future, and I dont mind them to raise only soft cap, that is only better. But in 2018 I totally stopped investing in ICOs.

At first I read nothing, but that wasnt a smart move... Mistakes were made and money was lost so from now on I always read not just the whitepaper but everything. I search who the team is, their roadmap, their comunity, the hype. Everything counts when you invest your money.

Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.

I think it is extremely important to read the whitepapers, because you can learn the most important informations about the ICOs from it. For me, an ICO must be really innovative. So, maybe you can find something interesting for you if you see a part which is about its technology or working style on the whitepaper.

I read the whitepaper to get an idea of how the token will be used and how it will generate a value that will increase over time. Do I read every whitepaper? No, of course not. I research like 20 new crypto companies a day and many ICOs and that would take too much time. If I am investing a significant portion of my bankroll then yes, I read the whitepaper because I am interested in the project and team.

If you do not want to invest in a shitty project its better that you read the whitepaper of every interesting projects in which you can invest. I'm not telling you to read the whitepaper of each and every projects out there but only a few of the projects which you believe have the potential.

I would say that I never reading WP of any ICO project before. LOL. Cause I don't invest in ICO project so but I only join bounty campaign so I just need to care about the amount of ETH or BTC these project got from their pre-sale. If any project sold out all the token in their pre-sale in just few days, it must be a good project to join and of course their bounty campaign also good as well Smiley).

Honestly, I'll read the whitepaper of a project if I'm really interested in the announcement, I'm not reading in its entirety, but only in essence, like the daneel project, which I think will be one of the best projects for the year, please read the roadmap and whitepapernya in www.daneel.io

I do read the whitepaper! I start to remember the number of pages and compare with others. It actually gives me more confidence in what I'm invested in after reading a nice whitepaper.

I do not read a whitepaper. the whitepaper can be copied or changed only slightly. and everyone can think of something. a good ico can be better seen on google. and write in the ico reviews the experts.

I often read the main part of Whitepaper of the ICO project that I invested in. But with the project that I just joined bounty campaign only I often don't read their WP but I spend few minutes to take a look at their roadmap, dev team and amount of money they got after their pre-sale is the most important thing to find out good bounty campaign to join Smiley

Whitepaper is a must read if you want to check project and know more about them and their products. How can you contribute if you don't even know what this project is about? The funniest part is that people who don't read go to Telegram and whine that they didn't know about some things/features of project lol  Grin

Definitely yes,I read ICO project's white paper.Because white paper is one important thing to look for when you invest in an ICO project and in order for you  to determine whether an ICO project are legit or not.And in the same way you can determine also their bountry campaign if its scam or not.So for me,I do prefer reading the white paper, specially when you want to join bounty campaign.

Yes seems whitepapers are less important now... unfortunately.
We are doing an ICO in April for our Coins4Favors project (www.c4f.io) and I think a good whitepaper helps to differentiate from scammers and unprofessional projects, but it seems less and less people read them.

We spend quite some time to describe in great detail the concept and how we make our project sustainable in the long run.
If you are a long term investor, you should be interested in how the project will grow in value in the long run. Getting ICO money and then deplete that over time without a solid business plan behind the project is a guarantee for failure of your investment in the long run.
Yet, if I look at the number of page visits, the number of people signing up for the Pre-ICO information and the number of Whitepaper downloads, it seems less than 20% read the whitepaper.

Reflects the hype of the market and how people jump on catchy buzz word slogans more than sound project concepts these days.
Consequentially it is getting more difficult to find investors who are really interested in the long term potential of a project and even we have given in to the fact that many investors are not willing to spend 1 hour to read a 30 page white paper.

As a consequence we have also added a 3 Minute video which outlines our project and the concept https://youtu.be/EXquipYf7xk, but I would hope that it is only a starting point for any serious investor.

Anyways, I hope those that read our whitepaper will buy into the concept and will help us develop the Coins4Favors global market place for mini-jobs and favors around the world.

Good luck everyone with your crypto-investments  Grin

If you do tend to read up all of them 1 by 1 then it would really give you an headache. Regarding into this situation I do only choose up some potential projects and that's the time I do read up their whitepaper. Less consumed time on reading up all. Just select which you do see some potential. Always read up summarization at first and if you do find out that sounds good to you then read on what you must read.
