Whenever a government announces to regulate bitcoin or cryptocurrency or whenever BTC price is in downfall, most of the media start to warn everyone not purchase or invest in Bitcoins.
https://www.bitex.in/a-class-of-indian-media-unnecessarily-damaging-bitcoin-reputation/

What is the reason for doing this? Do they intentionally do this so that even they can invest in Bitcoin and make some profit?

Nice post buddy, i assumed only one reason for that... ratings. As we know if the media can always make a news can be extraordinary, or extraordinary news to be fantastic. The power shapes public opinion. Sometimes used by certain parties in order to gain profit. just be awarel of the news in the mass media so we are not trapped inside. follow whatever the mass media say. always wise in reading the news and always update on cryptocurrency.
They're trying to gain ratings in a bad way, and also, a FUD to the cryptocurrency. Sometimes there's some news writer or reporters that have really minimal knowledge regarding cryptocurrency and they still writing about cryptocurrency anyway and ended up ridiculously releasing a wrong news with wrong information regarding cryptocurrency. Kinda silly to read all of those news but it's the reality.
However, the news site could also trying t control people's opinion as you said and media is a really really good way to change people's opinion over nonsensical writings from people with minimal knowledge about cryptocurrency.
and ultimately from some carelessness, they contribute a lot of FUD now, then is forwarded by readers who do not seek the absolute truth.
indeed tragic, but as you say this is the current fact. just hope that ours in future will be wiser in response to some articles in the media

I think the media should be wiser to see the development of bitcoin so significant, so balanced news is not always negative, because bitcoin already gives many benefits to most people, I think more positive value.

the media should be a bridge between people which is not use cryptocurrency and people which is use cryptocurrency and they only give a real fact so people could think what they need to do. the media should learn about cryptocurrency also because they are not just making money from giving a bad news but they also receive good reputations which are more difficult to get from the people. they need to think that people right now is too smart and people will not make a rash decision on their bad news.

Of course they will continue to feed negativity about bitcoin to the public, after all they're getting paid and they have to protect the interest of the one who pays them, it may be the Government, Influential People, or even The Banks but one thing is for sure they will do their best to destabilize everything who gets in their way not just Bitcoin.

The market works a lot to the manipulation that's why we must not tremble in front of this brutal decline. For a few days now, the BTC has been stable and no media talks about it. They talk about it when it suits them.

Not all media is negative about cryptos. Although I have observed that many articles gives a lot of positive feedback about Ripple, which is a centralized crypto. I smell something fishy.

The media need to get attention from people, in order to do that is usually more effective to talk bad about something than talking in a positive way.. so scams, hacks, drops and so on are more easy to sell than the positive things!

it is also mandatory for us to enrich ourselves with the latest information accurate information, from the official site is trusted. which sometimes still sad is the news sentimental news that is easy to react the market react, no doubt panic sell happen. yea ... FUD news, government policy, social media banned and things like that. media will concern and lift it as an interesting hot issue.

because most of the media is governed by the government
and the government from the beginning disliked Bitcoin because they could not regulate it
and the government does not get tax from bitcoin transactions

Media is getting negative about bitcoin because they themeselves doesnt know or cannot explain how a simple person can be rich in a bit. Well that was just a first empression and thats natural if they are lack of knowledge about bitcoin. Its just a matter of time for them to understand because we cannot forces someone to believe.

Because media they want to get an attention of people to become interested of their news
So neeed to spreads in the public the bad side effects of cryptocurrency as digital currency but in the end have good feedback for bitcoin become famous and people start researching what is bitcoin as currency.

That is realistic dude. Media will start make a news that attract people's attention the most. Media only care about earning their income too. If bitcoin bring a great news and this is affecting so many people, they will make the news about it too. It depend's on the situation too.  Smiley

Yes, media is always exaggerating the risk and always saying negative things about bitcoins. Most of the time, reporters doesn't really know what bitcoin is and how it works. Sometimes, they even give false informations just to gain attention. These things prevents us from going further because those statements are engraved on the peoples mind which makes them afraid on getting involved with cryptocurrencies.

They are getting paid and because of the manipulators and the whales who are manipulating the market they are paying the media especially the websites in the internet to say some negative thing about bitcoin and in the other side, the media in the television is saying negative because the government didn't want to give bitcoin a good exposure because it will surely have a revolution.

That's how media industry works by creating an over-hype or exaggerated impression to something that trends in positive or negative way. They always said that their stories were based on the facts and consulted an expert until the simple story become a headline.

I think media don't think about the topic that they report as long as it gives them views and people talks about it. They also based their opinions on the ones they interviewed. For example, if they interviewed a bank manager and it says that bitcoin is a scam, they will said on tv that it is also scam and the rest is history. I haven't watch a news program that interviewed a bitcoin investor/miner. Also, people who don't know anything much about bitcoin is afraid what bitcoin can do.

The problem is the anonymity leads to non-legal activities being used in bitcoin. Which is why governments are keen to regulate the industry. There have been hacks and scams that have affected many people as well. Don't necessarily agree with them, though.

The bad news sells better! Some journalists do not know and do not understand bitcoin. Others are tied to governments or institutions such as banks that have losses caused by bitcoin. Some just take some news and give it away.
