They are completely untested. I am not going to participate in this campaign despite planning to this month. I respect Stunna's decision but I expect almost all other members and full members to leave too, if not this month, certainly at the next one.

I'd like to think most of my posts are on topic and not just junk. For curiosity sake, how will you determine whats high quality if you cull Sr members such as myself ?

This a bad move, the  part with keeping senior members is fine, but if you turn this to afixed rate, it could turn ugly cause you will lose gamblers and advertisers,  I thin this might make alot of people angry.  Im not part of this campaign and thank I am not lol

I very highly doubt anyone is going to put an affiliate link in their signature. Either way you'll find out soon. I think you might make a U-turn on this move... (from a neutral perspective as I am not a part of this campaign).

They might not have a choice if they can't get on any other deals. Some will stay just out if loyalty or because they like PD or whatever though.

It's honestly just too difficult to moderate all these people at lower levels. When I first joined bitcointalk the quality of discussion was so much higher, part of the watering down is due to the rise of bitcoin but I still think I've played a key role in this.

I don't think you can blame yourself for the quality of discussion dropping, as like you said that's just down to the popularity bitcoin gained so suddenly and everyone just came swarming in trying to get rich quick in whatever ways they could (scams or spams). Though signature deals (not just this one) obviously will have encouraged the lesser quality of posts it would've happened anyway with or without sig deals and that's the users fault not yours or anybody else's. Even if the deals get banned in the future I think the quality of posting would still be the same or may just naturally get worse due to more and more of the general public getting involved.

Yeah, but they're not very transparent imo and you're counting on the operator dishing out the funds fairly. I'd rather bank on my own link as opposed to joining a pool.

Wouldn't a better solution to this be to stop accepting new members into the signature campaign?

Some will leave cause they think they will/are getting better deals, those won't be allowed back anymore. And those that stay, stay for good and I'm pretty sure most of the Sr. Member and upwards who have been under the PD campaign know the differences between crappy posts and quality posts.

Fixed rates are going to encourage people posting a minimum 50 posts a month (which probably will be mainly spam).

Anyway, let's see how this plays out.

Stunna is making a mistake, fixed-payment sig campaign is unlikely to help.
But cutting member who below Snr is fine, that will cut a lot of spamming.

I don't think that the post quality really increases with senior or hero members compared to member or full members. I mean thats a huge generalisation based on my, albeit brief, time at this forum. Wouldn't a better approach be, if quality is the main concern, to judge each individual on their own merits, whatever rank they are...

Full Members are usually alright but you get one or two that aren't. I would allow them but disallow Members if it was my campaign (and obviously it isn't) as the vast majority of spam comes from them (that's not to say there isn't great Member posters cos there is and we've all been there at one point). It depends what Stunna wants to achieve really. If he wants to drastically cut the amount he's paying out whilst keeping the post quality high then he may feel it necessary to  keep on only Snrs and above. You don't really get Snrs posting rubbish as they've invested too much time in their accounts and it isn't worth it to get banned over spamming etc. With Members you can have another account ready within 2 months. Full Members kinda bridge the gap between them both.

Could you not just list your pd address in your profile? But if I was Stunna I would pay into our accounts as people are more likely to lose it then haha, though some people wouldn't be happy with this.

You are so right to make a flat rate. The primedice spam has been awful. I love Primedice, use it constantly, but many people abuse it and post countless low quality posts You should make a flatline with a minimum post requirement. You're honestly getting robbed out of your money by people cheating you. Not that you're contributing to the downfall of the Bitcoin community, but really the off topic replies can get annoying, on top of that you get robbed out of BTC. You're right to stick it to Senior and Hero members. They'd be the more honest ones when posting.

Seems like a very good idea. I think your post is hitting the nail on the head concerning the health of the community. Lot's of topics are overflown with spam, posts are being made without even reading through the topic (Posts like 'I might be interested in your product' after the seller has been unmasked as a scammer) etc.

I'm not sure if the entire problem is rank related, since I've seen quite a few (full) members make decent posts without spamming all over the forum, but I guess you'd have to draw a line somewhere.

I agree something possibly needs to change because the quality of bitcointalk posts isnt as great as it once was.  Its a good rule of thumb to discount anyones post with any signature campaign attached below as worthy of a read. I think we have some positives though....  The good news is the bitcoin community has a first rate gambling site with primedice .   

Bitcointalk's lenient policy in general towards external linking is great and i hope things stay this way.

joined new campaign when I read this but claimed payment first have screenshot that I had signature throughout entire term. But had to jump on a new campaign before they all filled up. There are going to be a lot of people like me trying to join campaigns so I saw an opening and took it.

By the way PD3 seems to not be working for me. Could it be because I'm on a mac.
