when will the firmware be out.
im running the newest 3.4.0 bfgminer and it seems to have a problem with temp it just sticks at 7Xc , would like to over clock to 80c atleast
even if i set the cut off and temp ranges in the bfgminer.conf it does not take them still 68c, 69c, 70c , 71c , 72c never pass 73c running now 5 hours or so
showing me only 22GH , also how can i see how many engines are running i would like to see if all 8 chips are running on the board

If you still have the FTDI driver, you can open up the comm port in  Hyperterm or Putty and type in ZCX, it will report the number of engines.

I tryed that and it did not work putty shows up as UNKNOWN and just sits on it

worked with out a problem and showed me the info. now it shows as 20GH
is the firmware 1.0.0 the same as BFL firmware ?
if so maybe updating to 1.2.6 would be a better option

yes it works in 7 im running x64 at home and x86 at work both work fine

That sounds to me like your cooling solution is not working well enough.  There are two types of temperatures that will cause the hash rate to drop. 
1) The temperatures of the ASIC chips.  Your heatsink and fan or your TIM (Thermal Interface Material) may not be good enough.
2) The temperature of the voltage regulator.  Keeping the voltage regulator cool will help ensure your Chili will hash as fast as possible.  Someone recently posted photos of an old PS3 heatsink attached to the bottom of the voltage regulator area.  Or at the very least, add a fan blowing on the voltage regulator.

Based on your comment above, I think #1 is your primary problem.  Which heatsink and fan are you using?  What TIM are you using?

i had to use the slim x3 heat sink as i need to fit it in a case already with a bfl 30gh , I'm using the thermal pads from keefe in this thread.
i will see if i can get a different heat sink and test it but it might not be possible for my area that I'm placing it i will have to see.
the 212 like i said in pass post will be way to big for the pc case that the chili will be in with the 30GH BFL. I have to see my options this week and see if i can mount the chili in a different part of the case maybe upside down with spacers inbetween the case and the the chili like on a hdd mount or the dvd rom but under it i will have to see untill then.

overall if i touch the heatsink its not that hot at all
bottom of the board is like 5 to 7 secs before its burning u
right now i have legs on the bottom of the board raised about 3 to 4 inchs up
the legs have feet on them rubber work nice. i did notice that when it was just laying on bottom of the board on my wood table it would hash at 19GH with the feet on it it now hashs at 22GH
so maybe the bottom of the board needs more cooling like u said

i will see what happends tonight when i add it to its main area, right now its at my apt and its frezzing in here so i would think it would be hashing faster lol
i will ask some techs at work if they have any heatsinks laying around maybe i can get some for free before buying one

You removed the plastic from both sides of the pads, right? The plastic on one side is textured, the other smooth.

I think it's normal for the heatsink to feel just a little warm, even near the board. I thought that was a problem at first, but when I unplugged the fan, it got almost too hot to touch.

I've lost alot of mining revenue from one of my Chilis because it keeps hanging and needing its power cycled. I'm hoping the firmware update will fix that. Any chance you can give us whatever update you have today even if it doesn't have all the planned features?

You removed the plastic from both sides of the pads, right? The plastic on one side is textured, the other smooth.

I think it's normal for the heatsink to feel just a little warm, even near the board. I thought that was a problem at first, but when I unplugged the fan, it got almost too hot to touch.

correct i removed them from both sides of each strip , also when i remove the fan it jumps up to 80c and drops in GH

If you want to use cgminer, download the Zadig utility that was previously linked to replace the FTDI driver with a WinUSB one. The instructions are in the cgminer directory. It works the same as a regular BFL device.

I don't know what cooler you have.

Put it between the cooler and the ASICs, and smoosh the two together.

Somebody have an alternative link for Zadig drivers for cgminer? I'm getting error message that I don't have sufficient priv. to access at http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/zadig/

Not saying this is your problem necessarily, but I wonder how much difference it makes to orient the heatsink so that some air flows over the VRMs. I'd turn it 90 degrees from how it's shown in that picture. I'm using the Hyper 212 Evo, blowing end to end, which might be creating just a bit of air turbulence around the VRMs.

Not hashing, doing nothing. Try it on 2 PCs, same thing. My Bitburner Fury works fine. Change usb cable, same result.

This is a workaround version of BFGMiner until a new firmware update for the chilis

Here's a modified version of BFGMiner, I also included the driver inside of it as well that should fix your problem. (I don't know much about CGMiner though)

Open up bfgminer.conf and change the Pool and Username to whatever you want (It currently uses mine so make sure you change it)
Run CDM v2.08.30 WHQL Certified.exe to install the correct driver for windows

Once you do both of those, just open up bfgminer.exe and it should read from the config automatically and start hashing for you.
If it doesn't see the Chili, all you have to do is keep BFGMiner open, unplug the USB, Plug it back in, press M then + then type all or auto and enter. It should find it.

Please note if it still isn't working then you need to exit BFGMiner, unplug you chili power, plug it back in and wait for all the lights to stop blinking. If you try to find the miner while it's "Booting up" it will have issues.
"Booting Up" is the two most right LEDs (Closer to the Power) blinking back and forth. Again once all the LEDs are not blinking anymore it should be ready to start hashing, start your BFGMiner and follow the above steps.

Just wanted to put it out there that I am using Ubuntu 12.04 CGMiner 3.5.0 and all I had to do was plug it in to an open USB port and my Chili has been hashing away at 34 GH/s with temp at 70-72C. I really like this board....

This is how it should be.

Ill have mine hashing by Friday with an ARCTIC Accelero TT II and press on heatsinks under the chips and voltage regulator.

I will post my cgminer results Friday.
