Till now, no coin show strength to beat bitcoin in near future as no coin is near bitcoin price nor have that much value to catch its price. No one can predict future but in my view, there is no competitor of bitcoin in near future.

Most of the replies here are making the comparison based on price of the coin. As an investor, your concern should be based on the returns you are getting and not on the current price. A coin with current price of $1 can give 10x when price moves to $10 in 12 months. This much is impossible with bitcoins now at current prices.

The gab in price of bitcoin to other coin is too high to breach, and no coin is as old as bitcoin. No coin has also faced criticisms as the bitcoin. Investing in other Icos is good and very profitable, I dont know if theres an altcoins that can beat bitcoin? Because it is considered as the most trusted coin and the father of the cryptocurrency, also it still continue as the top coin, so i guess other coins cant beat the popularity of it, but who knows? We cant predict what will happen in the future  so always stay updated about crypto world.

There are alot of potential coins in the market. I don't know if any of these coins could beat Bitcoin in the future coz I don't see it as a contest. It may be difficult in terms of price and market cap, but when it comes to profitability, many alts provide greater profit at present.
