The shear volume of ICOs out there has to make you skeptical. Statistically, a majority of those ICOs will fail, and the ones that succeed will join a large pool of existing cryptocurrencies. A majority of those coins / tokens will also likely fail in the future.
A lot of ICOs don’t stick out of the crowd with very similar projects popping up at the same time. Projects often market with crazy hyperboles too. “Change the world” “connect the globe” etc. There just isn’t a whole look of trust in the space right now, especially with the downturn in the market the last few months. It seemed like everything was a moonshot in 2017 and that isn’t the case right now.

What are you talking about? People are crazy about ICOs and are going to invest even more now that the market is showing signs of bear movements during this month,

Maybe the person has a bad experience in following ICO. They are exposed to a scam ICO or when they follow ICO the results they get are very small and harm them. Or they may not know the ways to find good quality ICOs so they do not believe that ICO can provide real profit and income for them.

Because it is hard to find good ICO that will make some good profit on it for an experienced guy who is in crypto world since beginning, not to mention all new people in this world.

Investors don’t believe in ICOs because there are a lot of scammers in this industry. Look at the statistic, nearly 90% of projects are launched for fraud and money collecting. Also, only a few amount of projects list their tokens on exchange platforms, but all of them raise money (no matter how much).

I think the reason lies in the fact that they are afraid of losing their investments. besides, no one has canceled the prosperity of fraud. at the same time, many are invested and do not even know themselves what.

I just don't get why people aren't trying to push good projects more than they are trying to shoot down everything
Just people do not know how to choose an ICO, conducted on those where they offer more, and then sit empty-handed. Greed is everything.

There are tons of reasons. Some ICOs are scam, a lot of investors have learned their lessons the hard way. Some run after the ICO have finished or successful. Another thing is that, you can actually buy cheaper coins once coin get listed on an exchange, so it is why it is safer because you will know that a project is legit once they list their coin in a decent exchange after the ICO and buying there is sometime cheaper than ICO price.

Most investors are disappointed that the investment ico has lost money in the last few months, which is the main reason why the ico market is cold.

More and more projects turn to scam, plus you can work hard but the project could still fail or the exchange rate of coins will be low. But I still believe in ico.

Name me a handful of ICOs that have a market ready project and are successful and by successful I don't mean an increased market cap but cash flow or huge numbers of users.

For that reason they know that ico's is a scam, they can lose their money because of it. They do not have enough knowledge about ico's or they do not care about it. We do not have the right to force them to believe in ico's because each person has their own decision.

Not all ico are scam there still few ico project that have a real product and developer all you need is do research on that project check every detailed of the project dont put your money if you see the project have a high chances to turn into scam, one reason why people have no faith in ico because their scam in some ico.

People are drawn to easy money; the get rich quick idea. Greed clouds their judgement. Unfortunately, getting rich quick does not exist. There are ICO's out there that have merit. Your job is to research which ones are real and which ones are scams. As long as you have done your part in vetting them, you stand a chance for earning a profit.
Think about this. Do you remember the initial offering price of Google? Amazon? Apple? What is the stock price today? How long did it take them to get to where they are today?

of course it requires knowledge and experience, for involvement in the crypto industry. if you are a beginner, surely this will make you ask questions. and you need to know, not all ico is good and will succeed. especially for the moment it's so difficult to compare the recognize ico that leads to a scam action. That's why many people are not sure of investing in ico.

Most of the time people misinterpret the coins/tokens as dividends to the project's revenue not knowing and reading that it is a utility token which can be use the proposed platform. And if you are an investor that expecting high value after an ICO and the team will list on an exchange then sometimes you will be disappointed because of this ignorance. Please bear in mind though this tokens are tradable it still a has its general purpose and its actual use should be promoted so that project will be in industry for a long time and not like any other platform that after ICO and pumping of price, they're gone.

Many people doesn't really do analysis about the fundamental of ICOs, even they don't read the whitepaper of ICO mostly of them just read the title of ICO, when they got scam all of the ICOs be blamed and they don't believe in ICO projects any more, actually the problem is on the investors, they don't really learn more about the projects and unfortunately they don't know about it.

because many ICOs are not that trustworthy enough and due to bad past experiences of an individual user to certain ICOs because some are fake and some are real. you just have to be very specific to what you want and be systematic to picking an ICO you want to work with it.

All this is because they lack the proper knowledge of investing..... sometimes they easily gets attracted towards the ponzi schemes and then when they incur losses they discourage other people too to not to invest in other upcoming projects although they are good...

I think most people do not really read well before investing maybe some of them (especially the newbie) think all project is profitable if it is not scam. I think the major thing to do first before investing is to study well what you want to invest into and ask yourself what is your chance of profiting from the project. most investors do not really do this but I think it is better to have in mind the area that interest you most in any ICO. is it app development project or real estate or mining or alternative energy having it at the back of your mind that you are investing on something that will be generally be acceptable when finally hit the market.
