Why do people have no faith in ICO's?

Lack of knowledge, because some of investors don't investigate or trying to see if its legit or not then if they scam their belief is gone so wrong they did not think before investing in a project  the  they complaining why they scam.

Now a days people are losing faith on ICO'S because in last few months,there are many ICO'S which were failed to collect required funds and windup their  projects.This create huge negative affect on ICO'S.

In last few months so many ICO's are failed to collect the required funds from the market, and they shutdown/postpone there projects due to continuously downfall of this market.I think due to this reason people's loosing there faith on ICO's.

ICOs tend to have cycles.

During the hyped period when cryptocurrencies prices are soaring, new investors get tempted by stories of how ICOs can quickly give them returns of several folds. During such a time, ICOs go through a trough, where there is a lack of investors and even good projects find it difficult to raise funds.

It is also during the trough where investors who are still investing in high-quality projects obtains returns of several folds as the high-quality projects deliver on their products and hit milestones. Stories of such huge returns bring back newbie investors which repeat the cycle.

Some people have already experience with ICOs wherein they have high hopes for the project but after the ICO, the developers either disappear or didn't follow the roadmap that's why the get discouraged and if the developer aren't active then there is a tendency the investors would pull out their investments. Some ICOs are good but end up the team behind it run away with the investors money that's why some don't trust ICOs anymore. With the ICO boom in 2017, majority of it are below ICO price now so some just choose to wait until it is listed in exchanges so that they can buy it cheaper.

I think that over time there is a situation that should apologize, because many users have learned to analyze information and distinguish the swindler from real promising projects. home study all the documentation and see what kind of people are engaged in the development and based on this draw conclusions.

Sincerely there are still some good ICOs around that have good roadmap and also have a solid team. If every investors are of the opinion that all ICOs are scam then all ICOs will die. The coming of new promising ICOs keeps hope alive that the future of investing in ICOs is bright.

the whole ICO world just need a more stricter rules against all these ICO to prevent any kind of scam. Just imagine if there's some kind of authority that verifying every single ICO appear into the surface of cryptocurrency world. Even if it's centralizing ICO, it'll be good for the people's sake.
But however, only verifying won't make us losing the point of being decentralization I suppose.

i understand your point of view. Many peoples spread their investment because they are not sure which one is the most profitable for they.
more over there are many ICOs that turn to be scam. it will makes peoples lose faith about ICO.

People don't have faith in ICOs since they are able to tell no one actually needs $100 million to develop a beta of a product. The Merkle just yesterday published a list of top 4 projects not doing an ICO and building the product first.

2. Masari - they have a token, no ICO
3. ChanCoin - currently building, 0 marketing, just developing

So they are a proof of not needing to do an ICO at least until you have a working product. Grin/MimmbleWimmble is another great example, and there will be more and more to come!

Cause most of the scam ICOs are hyped by large number of shills and there is no way to differentiate between them and the good ICOs. Also most of the ICOs launched last year have already failed so I don't see why someone should have trust in the ICO future. Also most of the ICOs are being valued at crazy prices and aren't worth even one tenth of their valuations.

People have no faith because most of the ICO's here are to make money fro themselves and they just wanna run away with it. This is happening since a year now and thats why people has started doubting every ICO that comes out of the black hole. I mean if this keeps happening then the day will come when people will not even have 1% trust in such projects and there wont be any ICO;s anymore.

Its the ICO who are making it scam not the people! People are here to earn money or profits by putting their own money into their projects but if they kept doing scam stuff then how can anyone risk the money anymore?

Because most of the ICOs are scams nowadays which is why fewer people are risking their money thri these ICOs,theres much scams compare to the legit ICOs which is why less and less people are joining ICOs,because you will need to do a lot of research before joining these ICOs so that you wont regret your investments,if you have found redflags do not try to join or you will lose your investments.

I agree , ICO's got a really bad name because a lot of people scammed with it. So when people see ICO now they will instantly refuse it, but they forget that there came a lot of solid projects out of ICO's. I think if you just do your reserach and know what you are doing it can be profitable to invest in ICO's.

Bad rep some ICO's are getting recently is actually a good thing for cryptomarket and future ICO's.

Why did people lose faith? Lack of transparency, mostly - as well as lack of responsibility from some ICO companies.

It will get better with time, there are currently a few ICO's I have enough faith in to invest in them.

Many people does not have a faith in ICOs becouse 80% of them are scam. You just dont want to loose your money after all, so you would make an investments with care.
