when is the expected ship dates for these?
Our first batch which has now closed will ship in July. Funny you guys were saying June a month ago. First it was Q2/3 Then it was Q2, then it was June. Some forum members moronically thought that Q2 meant the first day of the first month and you would ship in April. I know Q2 would mean end of June. Now you are saying July which of course for product manufacturers mean end of July. Given 1-2 weeks delivery (includes customs) customers wont see their miners in hand until mid August. And this is assuming that there aren't any more delays. Already the reports alpha-tech post stated that they weren't getting optimal performance and they are still in design. I expect a few more road bumps from here until July. If the rest of engineering does not run like well oiled machine I would target Sept for delivery.

this thread still alive?
I can only see 2 possible outcomes of this venture:
(most likely)1. Alpha will disappear before July with all the pre-order money and I will laugh so hard at anyone who believed.
(not likely but possible)2. Alpha will deliver miners and become the leader in scrypt asic hardware, and i will regret not ordering.
Either way, life will still go on, with or without Alpha scrypt miners.

Please keep in mind by the time July is here, nvidia will most likely have already launched the new maxwell chips with superior efficiency. Factoring the time lost and increased difficulty, it is hard to justify this purchase since it is blanketed with uncertainty and no guarantees.

What is sad is that Alpha-tech is already acting like Butterfly labs. They priced their units at only 10% lower than the price performance of 7950s or 290xs. KHs/$ is 2.5 for GPUs and only 2.8 for the 25MHs units. Bast on the maxwell chip speculation and anticipated bandwidht plus the new DDR RAM step up will mean that GPU KHs will out strip the KHs/$ performance of current GPUs but a conservative 50% and possible even 75%. This means that the AMD GPUs will wipe out the alpha-tech units after only about a month after deployment. Not even enough time for alpha-tech customers to break even. Wait till the AMD GPUs start getting out into the wild. Alpha-tech preorder buyers will be screaming for the shipments to get delivered and there will be frantic selling of the units on eBay hoping a sucker will buy them out at just break even.

the fact you carnt go to their 'office' and pay direct or even speak to them in person is very suspicious, where dealing with alot of money here.
no business operates like this, new business's want the most publicity and customer satisfaction possible, it wouldn't make sense to turn away potential customers and deny the right of face to face business.
they are scared of talking to people face to face because they haven't got the dexterity to lie to a customers face

I believe you are talking about the nVidia card, not the AMD card. The selling point of ASIC miner is that it is more power efficient.

Gridseed has already sent out its shipments, and its early March, system is up and running, money back in 2 months. Which takes us to early May, alpha wont even have their systems out by then. Another 2 months.
I could make my money back and buy another and probably make my money back on that one as well before it takes these guys to get their 1st batch out.
Crazy why you would invest that money and miss out now.

anyone who is dumb enough to give btc/money to this obvious scam deserves to lose it all. We are not in the bfl/avalon era anymore. No sympathy when you come here whining in Sept for non-delivery.

It's not the question of whether it is a scam, but a question of value. Viper 5Mhs probably cost no more than £50 each to make and they are selling it for £1600 ish.
