The entire market is still bearish. And no new money is coming in. Everyone is on the lookout to know exactly where the market is before investing. Until the market stabilises and has a concise upward movement before one can judge which coin is stagnant and which is not.

The ethereum coin is stagnant ,it is so because there are maybe some factors lying in the digital market that cause the altcoins value is is not moving from this time , this is business there will be time in which there are in high value and time in which value is very down.

I wonder why Etherium has been stagnant over the past few weeks without any significant rise in price. It became stable which is good. However, it dropped two fold since its maximum achieved in the end of January 2018 when the Bitcoin and majority of altcoins were slumping. I have seen many posts ans articles about the Etherium overpassing Bitcoin this year, but it seems not much to be the case as of now...

Take a look at daily price chart - there is a strong down trend and it hasn't been changed yet. So unfortunately I don't see the power to grow... Moreover I guess it can drop even lower to $400 soon.

First of all BTC price fell down as a result of which other Altcoins went down. Many tokens of successful ICO were sold by the people in a huge quantity that the price of ETH fell down to very low level. Its mean next time it will surge to very high level.I did not sold me tokens and hold them and i know that ETH will cross $1k in 2018,so good time is coming near.ETH is growing at a very slow rate thats why its price is increasing slowly.

I think that many traders and investors began to show interest in bitcoin, because they saw a slight upward movement. This was the reason that the price of ETH frozen in one place. But I'm sure that soon the growth will begin.

Markets a little sideways right now unfortunately, don’t just look at ethereum. Hopefully the whole market picks up the rest of this year.

Stagnancy is part of the investment. If there is lot of investment then it will spike in the market value and if it is less then obviously the coins will decrease in the value. On the other hand we can not surely say that bitcoin will be overcame by the ethereum itself because it doesn't have that much volume as well as market Cap to cover the bitcoin first line of defence. It will take far greater efforts for Ethereum and if they kept it limited to ICO projects then they may not progress at specific point beyond. The reason is simple, more the ICO getting scam these days the more is the output of the ETH as well. SO it may or may not cross the bitcoin.

Maybe because of the what happen to bitcoin that falls hard and some investor withdrew their fund that might happen to ETH as will. But for me its ok because eth will surely be stable not like other altcoin that dumps hard as will.

there is a reduction in quality ICO available, so it may be a reason. Also EOS sells too many ethereums

Ethereum have other contenders when it comes to smart contract if that what we think will make the price of ethereum go up. We have other platforms like NEO and STELLAR.

so it's necessary that eth price has to significantly rise every day right? The price has been dropping and sleeping exactly because of people like this who expect the price only to grow and if it doesn't happen they sell

it is currently the condition of eth is decreasing due to the parent coin is bitcoin itself is also experiencing a decline deep enough
if bitcoin down it will inevitably impact on other coin coins like eth xlm xrp etc.
if the bitcoin price is normal again certainly other prices will go up as before
I also wish if the normal price goes back up but what is the power of the current market condition leads to the declining price

hopefully all back to normal again

We see that Ethereum's price is stable while there is a certain improvement in the crypto market. I think the most important reason for this is advertising bans starting for ICOs. (Facebook, Google, maybe Twitter can also agree bans...)

The developers of the etherium moved to another project, so the coin becomes cheaper. To start growth, you need to solve several problems. The main one is the burning of part of the coins during the transaction.

also because there are a lot of dumps going on, people are panic selling, the whales are exiting to better investments and ICO scammers are pulling out.

at the same time newbie investors are buying and panicking at the same time which is keeping the price up in an stagnant status.
The two main reason that are holding the market back and stopping it from recovering are whales and launching of scam ICO’s and projects. Whales have manipulated the crypto market many times and have caused panic sell among new investors and many other people. Whales are mostly responsible for massive dips in crypto market that occur for no reason. Moreover, launching of scam ICO’s have caused the money to flow outside the crypto market and has led to many dips and crashes in the market making it stagnant.

ETH is still in development, and the development of the ETH not only reflected in prices, because recently a lot of ICO raise need to use the ETH, so contributing to a bubble ETH appeared, at present there are a large number of teams in selling the ETH, so prices are normal, and ETH is still under development.

probably because the price decline from BTC for now also decreases and affects the eth itself.
for now the price of eth is not stable yet, and it still takes time to get back to the stabill price.

ICO prices are no better when they enter the trade, perhaps because the value of ICO token growth and trade is so worthless that people throw it away to make a profit, that could be the reason why the ETH price has not looked good

You are right. Ethereum declined a lot compared with bitcoin.
I believe it is caused by ICO teams. They raised so much ethereum during 2017 that they must have sold lots of it to cash out.
