WANTED: Active dev to fix & re-write p2pool in C

CEX support has always been crap. They only post on this, their own official thread, once or maybe twice a month - and that is either to apologize for yet another hacked account, or to tell you to open a support ticket that gets ignored for a few days/weeks. Just scroll back & count their posts yourselves, it's pathetic. Every other official pool thread is filled with the pool devs answering questions immediately or within hours they are asked something.
When asked about their double spending on this thread they completely ignored every question for three weeks, pretending it never happened, until pressure forced them to finally admit it, and that was a few weeks later as well. Even then they tried to cover it up with lies.

Ripping off noobs is what they do. Nothing else.

Wow... I did not know that... I have been using them since October and never had any problems until I went a few weeks without logging in to check on things, then I come back to find out that my account has been cleaned out...

I'll bet they did it themselves assuming that I had abandoned my account because I very seriously doubt someone just guessed my 13 digit password that contains two misspelled words and numbers and I also know for a fact that no one changed my account info and logged into my email to click any confirmation links because my email account is monitored and I am notified anytime someone accesses it from a new/unknown source computer or IP.

So pretty much the only way my account could have been compromised is if they did it themselves or if a third-party hacked their servers which is THEIR problem, not mine and in that case I would expect to be compensated.

At the VERY least, I would like to have control back over my own account which can't be done without support's assistance and I won't be using their site again until they agree to let me audit it's security myself.

Very unlikely.   More likely it was a social attack.   Someone figured out your user id and email and set them a sob story of how your email had been compromised and ask them to change the email address and reset the password.   At least that is what happened in the past.

No, there is no record of such in my support tickets history...

This is standard for CEX, they completely ignore you - absolutely useless customer support - always has been, always will be.

Sorry for your loss my man, but you're not the first (a scroll back through this thread will show you this) - and you won't be the last either - there are many warnings about CEX all over these forums as well as documented cases.

I hope you sue them.

Peace  Grin

I didn't lose enough to warrant a lawsuit, but if they're a legally registered business I would be more than happy to lodge a complaint against them somewhere...

They are a legally registered company in the UK, but it means nothing I'm afraid - apart from making them "official" crooks. It costs only a few £'s to register a company in the UK - anyone can do it - that is why CEX are registered there. Sorry.

Does the UK have a Better Business Bureau equivalent...?

Apparently the uk equivalent is the Trading Standards Institute (http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/) though I see nowhere on the site to lodge a complaint. I will have to look up their number and give them a call during business hours to figure out how to lodge a complaint.

I recommend any others with complaints against cex.io do the same.

I would suggest opening a thread in the appropriate section on this forum (mining section?) & explaining your situation as much as possible with all the proof you have here - make a noise - it seems to be the only way of attracting any kind of response from cex as has been proven in the past on many occasions  Wink

For everyone else using cex.io as well, and this bears repeating until everyone does so, please please please enable 2FA on your account. If anything, it'll help in decreasing the amount of screw ups on cex's part.

A load of guff...

You were going to get cleaned out, one way or another. Either through theft or through your own stupidity in signing up to CEX.IO in the first place.

There are no free lunches and you asked for one too many.

Tough.

The price of GHS continues to fall and the users continue to lie to themselves that the price will rise. A self-perpetuating bubble.

An excellent example of what would happen if the lefties confiscated all the world's wealth and shared it out equally amongst the population. Within weeks there would be billionaires and poor people again. Why? Because some people always do the right thing with money but the majority always blow it.

You had a few coins but you wanted lots of coins only without any hard work. You blew it.

Well, I'm an asshole...

Someone did in fact gain unauthorized access to my AOL email account and that is how they gained access to my CEX account.

This was entirely my own fault and I would like to apologize to CEX for blaming them.

Still though, Support going a week and a half without contact for a compromised account which has been marked as "High" priority is still bad practice.

But as far as my accusations that CEX may have cleaned out my account, I was wrong and I am very sorry.

So to the person who gained access to my AOL email account from their mobile phone (Wind Telecomunicazioni S.P.A.) in Italy using IP 151.47.168.64 and who owns the Litecoin address LRrCYJxuZUf6k2nurkEezeppd6rhLpSrht you can go f*** yourself and you have been reported. Shouldn't be too hard to track you seeing as how you used a mobile phone, dumbass...

I apologized to the staff of CEX, but I'd like to apologize to you as well, I was pissed off last night and my behavior during my discussion with you was unacceptable and uncalled for. I am very sorry for that.

No foul, I'm pretty hot tempered myself and I was clearly pushing your buttons, even though I wasn't trying too.   It is very easy to spin out of control in these chats.   I'll delete my posts as a sign of good will.   Thank you sincerely for the apology and I apologize too.
