Yes ethreum will be great choice if he had more more but with $500 I would rather suggest any other altcoins with promising features like Stellar, Cardano and all if he wants to take chances if not then ethreum will be the safe investment

Wait a few days, and then invest in ETH.
There are to ways how ETH can act in nearest days. Now it trades not far from very strong suppotring line $450, if it brake throw it and go down, it can reach $250 eaily, than buy it.
In other case, if it go back to $500+, buy it on this level, as mostly possible it will go up.

You know, this is not a big amount to invest, so there is no need to speak about diversification. Cuz there is almost nothing to diversify. But this amount can make you a millionaire still.
All we understands that $500 invested in ethereum or bitcoin in the very beginning of their path could make you rich today. So my own advice is to try to find such coin that can became the biggest thing in crypto in near 5 years.
If you are trying your best as you said in your post, you will need to find it between all the rubbish which bitcointalk is full of - scam ICOs, fraud teams, fake decentralization and everything like that.
Also you can try to trade. So you can make your depo bigger. But it requires experience, requires time. You can make it with $500, but you should really try your best

If this is your first investment, then I would advise you not more than 200 bucks and 2-3 coins, which in your opinion are the most promising. Do not invest much in the beginning, yet not experienced.

What's the best way to diversify starting with $500. I am overwhelmed right now with all the coins i am interested in. I'm just not sure if i should be only focused on the top 10 or can i pick xxx coin that's ranked between #40-#150. I can say i like about 15-20 coins/tokens i just feel that's way to many for $500. I would like to put half in blue chip coin and invest in some alts with the remaining half. I was thinking put $50 into 4 atls???

I haven’t read all the posts of this thread. So where author put his money. On my mind would be reasonable to divide the sum and put the parts in different places.
