Jeez, your Furies are performing well compared to mine, are they standard or did you mod them in any way?

do you have a picture of the bf R15 before and after pencil mod?

of the r15 resistor itself? I did not take a before/after

Just take a #2 pencil and make 2-3 lines across the side of the r15. you should see atleast 10-15% gain

thanks, i haven't done a pencil mod since the ATI radeon 9700 day's LOL (2003) i think. now should i draw the lines on top of the resistor or just the sides? both sides? and i wonder if this will work on BE for R1 chip Thanks

the graphite doesn't seem to stick to the top. just along the side

I wouldn't overdo it. Once you hit the 2.7GH/s range I would stop

Both sit in front of a big 120mm fan.

As long as you got that fan there and it isn't hot to the touch you are probably fine.

I'm not familiar with pencil modding, will this make these run a lot hotter to where a fan is needed. My Red Furies are running super cool to the touch.

Does anyone know if pencil modding (or replacing R15) will result in higher current draw?  Could it possibly push the device over 500 mA?

To follow up on my earlier report, raspberry pi plus dlink dhub 7 that hosts the blue furry and links to two cheap chinese hubs with 9 erupters each running cgminer with NO special command lines gives:



Any decision on a new batch or should I be looking at the red fury group for more?

I wonder if I have a bad unit. I've read through this thread, and I've never seen anything better than 1.2GH/s. Different setups, always powered. Screen shot below shows bfgminer 3.5.1, but I've tried cgminer 3.7.2 and bfgminer 3.2.0. Linux and windows.

If this is a bad unit, can I send it in for a replacement/repair?

I am having the same problem and I have also tried Linux, Windows, cgminer and bfgminer. Have you made any progress?

Yes, I contacted my group buy leader. Sending the unit back to him for replacement.

Under BFGMiner the first figure is 5 sec average, second figure is all time average, third figure is average for pool (corrected for rejected).

How long were you connected?  It could take an hour or more to settle.

That was running for a couple of hours. I will try again and leave it overnight.

PS / HELP: One definate "how-to" run multiple block erupters and multiple blue furies on one raspberry pi featuring minepeon would be greatly appreciated. Does bfgminer listen to "bitfury" or "bigpic" when it comes to detecting and running the BFs? Thanks in advance, I am getting more and more desperate here

Hot damn, you know you're a nerd, when you need about 2 seconds to locate the digital multimeter on your desk, but need to go out to buy a pencil.

In any case:
Ω: 0.97 -> 0.89
Gh/s: 2.23 -> 2.68

I experimented down to 0.85, but since I have to leave it run unattended for a few hours now, I'd like to play it safe.

Where the white line is where you want to use your pencil on the side of that resistor. Don't waste your time doing it on the top. There is some sort of coating that the graphite wont stick to.

2 of these are pencil modded at different resistances . Been running for 5.5 hrs now with a fan set to low blowing on them - cool to the touch

How much of a pencil line do you need to put on or just apply thin layer each time and go over it?
