You will have to study many different projects in order to find a good ICO. There is a lot of useful information on this forum. You need to make efforts not to be mistaken. Don't believe others' people opinions and use your own head.

Yep, and also don't trust ICO's rating sites. I personally found 1 scam ico which was on 2 rating sites, with 3 and 4 stars out of  5.

Ask the organizers of ICO documents. Where they registered the firm conducting ICO.
I will tell you at once 90% of all ICO are conducted by firms registered in offshore areas.

Here is lot of iCO. How i find legit ICO.

I can recommend you to focus on the follow factors:
1. ICO should be regulated - so find ICO from location with appropriate regulation - Singapore for example
2. Team should be real and some of team members should be good known
3. Contribution amount should be appropriate to the scale of project

It does not guarantee anything, but you can mitigate your risks.

In most countries, yes, but what's wrong with that? The crypto market brings a lot of happiness to people who participate in it =)

Just make a proper research about the project product and its team. If project team having real people with real contacts and ICO have no legal issue then it safe to invest in it.

and I am sure that we can find a project that potential to reach their goals in the future but still, we need to be careful when we decide to invest in the ICO and we need to spend the money that we afford to the projects. remember that we don't have to use all of our money in only one projects because we can find many good projects in out there so we can divide our money into many projects.

Well, even if you're investing in an ICO, especially when you have a lot of money investing, you will also be more profitable in an ICO especially if it's a good double that you earn here.

There are still legitimate ICOs although there are really scams. We need to check with the fellow members if the people behind them are trustworthy otherwise stay away from them. These scammers are wasting our precious time. They should be punish

you can not even know if an ICO is legit, it's good that you just read their whitepaper, project plan, and their roadmap, and research their team and also the bounty manager if there is any red trust ,and above all their allocation of amount if it is high or not, you will know that ICO is legit by researching

there are some aspects you need to look at to find a legit ICO. To be honest we will never know how the ICO will end. but at least we should have some parameters. Of course the project concept must be clear. manager of his campaign, his bounty allocation, the development of his token sales, and also the team that dabbled in it.

Few are still legit. I came across a thread here in bitcointalk and it shows the spreadsheet of famous ICO investors and their reviews are somehow similar to each other. The ones that they hyped will sure give 100x gains back.

ICO advertisers are making good money on it. I don't think ICO is not legit anymore. Yes, you should be careful with it, but 1 of 10 ICO pretends to be not a scum.

There's no way to find a legit ICO, it depends mostly on your luck. The best you can do is to look at the ICO's team and their experience, try to find them on LinkedIn or Rocketreach. Also read their whitepaper and decide if their idea is good. Moreover check ICO rating sites like icobench , icostats and icodrops

I suggest don't read the whitepaper once instead read more repeatedly if possible to catch the vision and mission of the project. ICO legitimacy sometimes is hard to grasp as the scam will not do the thread obviously scam. They will make it more beautiful and more compact details to provide but at the end it is a big mistake by joining their ICO. To prevent falling in the scam or false ICO better to notice who manage the ICO, then notice the people or team members in the campaign. Some info was given already by other.

It might be a bit hard to find a legit ICO because there are a risk of abandonment of the project once the ICO is done, the basic thing to do to determine if an ICO is legit or not include such as : studying the whitepaper of the project, number of supporters from different social media accounts, background checking of the team behind the project.
