A new wallet? Hardfork around the corner?

Great news!

I'm guessing we'll have to sync to the new blockchain, right?  Grin

If you were already running tekcoin, I only updated my wallet with the 2.4.0.0 version and it was good to go, a complete redownload of the blockchain was not necessary.
As long as you update before the hard fork on april 6th, you're good.

 Cool

If anyone is interested in syncing the entire blockchain from scratch, it took my computer a day-and-a-half to do it. Not bad for a two-and-a-half year blockchain.

I agree... I had a quick look at git.

In my opinion, polling random servers that aren't part of the TEKcoin network is something the one should explicitly need to enable. It would be nice if the list of servers was in a configuration file instead.

The collected data could be used to learn more about the behavior of the network. ( not just TEKcoins p2p network).

It would also be interesting to provide an incentive to nodes to provide and share accurate data to those interested.

I am seeing a message on my Tek client that states:

"WARNING:  Invalid checkpoint found!  Displayed transactions may not be correct! ..."

Was there a blockchain fork in the last day or so?

Hi all
I think.. Version coin - is also the project that is run by Noise23 ..Version is a HighPOS|POW coin a..very close to TEKcoin.. So its a very good sign,
.. because almost all rescent updates of the TEKcoin wallet were made and published by Noise23..
peace

I have been having syncing issues with the new wallet and now a checkpoint error. Is there a problem we need to know about? What changes were made? Can't play the game if I don't know the rules.

Also the manipulated trading on YObit is ridiculous right now.

same here. checkpoint error. using new wallet.

SYNCING PROBLEMS WITH the NEW WALLET

The old wallet is syncing perfectly. However, the new wallet, v2.4.0.0-TEK, isn't (I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 on an Acer i5 machine).

I'd like to echo others who have reported syncing problems with new wallet and getting this warning message:

"WARNING: Invalid checkpoint found! Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or notify developers."

Developers, please take note!

My guess is that the checkpoint hasn't been updated yet because the wallet will fork on April 6th. If it's synching correctly, then a checkpoint warning is usually not a major issue. Note that the first part IS a guess. I haven't spoken with Thundertoe in a few days, so I'm not sure.

But I've seen this in several coins when there was a wallet update that was NOT mandatory and I didn't feel like compiling a new wallet. It was never an issue. Also, HBN had that a few months back while Tranz was working on wallet updates, and it never caused anything more than a bit of consternation Cheesy

... but the new wallet isn't syncing correctly! It did originally and I have made a few successful test transactions. After that the syncing wavered back and forth, not quite getting there. Then the warning message appeared and now it doesn't seem to sync at all.

I've not noticed any such warning message with HBN and I sync HBN regularly, but maybe I've just been lucky. Perhaps you are right and there's nothing to worry about. I'm just wary of transferring my not inconsiderable Tek holding into a mandatory wallet with a question mark over it as to whether it is safe to do so, or not.

I hear you. I had no probs so far, but I staked just before I upgraded, and haven't run it in a few days.
