For example why bootstrap.dat still takes a long time.

Is that due to them only syncing headers first from multiple sources, or has their been a new innovation? FYI: If it is not new and just the headers tech that came out earlier , Pandacoin last PoS wallet did attempt to use the headers 1st tech, programmer was a guy named MaNI that moved to Guldencoin after Panda's collapse. But the PoS hybrid blockchain for Panda was getting corrupted all of the time and they never really resolved it, most of their users just used the classic mode which worked the regular way using GetBlock. FYI2: My understanding (feel free to correct me if wrong) was that the current way pulls serially like 500 blocks from 1 node and then disconnects and pulls up to a max 500 from another node, the headers sync only pulls down the header info , but pulls it from multiple clients at the same time, and at some later time pulls down the rest of the block data. http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/36604/how-does-headers-first-effect-blkxxxx-dat-structureNo one has a headers first sync that works well on a PoS coin to my knowledge.

Tekcoin is my most favorite PoS alt coin. I have been a long time investor and like its concept. The ability to get a stake every 30 days, and its cheap price is one of the things that I love the most. I sometimes wonder why price has gone lower these days, but still makes it a great way to buy more. I miss when the prices were at 0.00000398 BTC per TEK. Due to the price that has fallen, I had many losses but I am very positive that it will rise back up again.

SEND the file virus to a company like symantec or AVG so that they can look at it and advise you on removing it. Remove the virus in any way you feel you can (if you cannot delete, try to compres it using 7zip (OSes don't usually run off 7z files but they can run off zip/vhd). Or change the source file inside (if you can understand it) so thatit is not as malicious if you can locate the file.

Maybe that explains why the price has gone lower during these last days. I just wish it was back at $0.001210 per TEK. Just lost a certain amount of money because of this, but still I am patient and waiting for the next pump. Chinese could definitely move Tekcoin trading activity.
