I have 348.96 Zettel... Global Hashrate is falling...

here's the proof

http://prntscr.com/j41po7
Network will not grow without a pool...

Yeah think there is challenge with creating pool, also need GPU miner. Don't think anyone is working on either.

I would be very very interested in a GPU miner!
And I could organise some good GPU mining power with guys I know,  to push Zettel,  if the dev wishes that.

i think the dev said he/she wanted to extend cpu mining as long as possible. I'm still finding plenty of blocks on a few processors. difficulty dipped down to .75 but back up to about 1.0, but still not up to the 1.6 it was a week or so ago.

the dev answers questions every other day or so...probably won't be long before we get more discussion.

This coin needs neither pool nor gpu miner.
It will grow steadily on its own merits.
This way it benefits the small miner, stop rushing things, look at Bitcoin, mine now and reap the rewards in 1-2 years....just chill

no pool no gpu >decentralize

I don't know what that means.

No pool, no gpu, means 1000's of people can wallet mine, so the very best for decentralisation....best way forward...

The fact you can't join a pool is discouraging to those who think they may never win a block . Being in a pool provides a sense of security that you will get rewarded for your efforts as opposed to your own personal luck. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant, it's just the perception of it being true.

I am pulling 3 blocks a day on a processor that is 9 years old with no OC right now.  We do not need a pool or a gpu miner!

I get no blocks for over a day then suddenly in quick succession I'll get two blocks dropping in, it's a bit of a lottery but still worth the wait.

I think its a slow roll till this gets any real developments. The basic Idea I think is fine. Would really like to see some more info. Dont' think dev is in any rush to publish any details further on knowledge management system until things are further along, but I don't really know just speculating.

no pool no gpu >decentralize
no pool no gpu = network will not grow

Maximum hashrate was ~160mh. After that miners didn't get any block for a whole day and stopped mining.

There is always PoDC like BiblePay offers.

You know HTMLCOIN was cpu mining for 5 months. Not having a pool never discouraged any CPU miner. I'm not sure where your perception comes from... It is most likely due to not being around crypto long enough. You know Bitcoin started as CPU only and anyone could mine it in the beginning. Pool was not necessary then and it isn't necessary now. If GPU mining becomes a reality through a clever GPU dev, then CPU mining is game over. But then, you still don't need a pool... you just need a GPU.

The fact you can't join a pool is discouraging to those who think they may never win a block . Being in a pool provides a sense of security that you will get rewarded for your efforts as opposed to your own personal luck. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant, it's just the perception of it being true.

Funny you should say that. I have almost 100 Zettel too, 99.781 to be exact.
We need GPU mining, if we don't get pool and GPU mining Zettel is going to die a slow lingering death, c'mon dev give us GPU miner.

wtf? no, we don't need a gpu miner, we need a pool. There is no solution in brining up the Speed to a few gpu mining farms. If you are interested in mining with gpu, look for other coins...
Why should we use a a new cpu algo if you guys just want to use your gpus?

No, I will never provide a GPU miner, since it will only further consolidate mining into even fewer hands.

Regarding pool: The Spread-Mechanism makes pool-operation difficult, so don't expect my help there either.

My goal is to extend the CPU-mining-phase as long as possible. Maybe even indefinitely (which will require hash algo updates).

More infos soon.

And thanks to the guy that made that recent 20 Zettel donation!

Some unsolicited thoughts on extending CPU mining...

This is not a criticism of your goals or statement that they aren't currently met... Clearly people are mining reasonably on CPU today, so thank you for that. At the same time, the algo you're using can quite easily be supported on GPU. I thought of doing that, but abandoned the idea of putting any time into it when I saw your statement about changing to something else. If that was your intent, it worked on me Wink. SpreadDoubleKetchup is a tiny bit harder to port than some other well known algos, just because most simple devs won't be able to cut and paste the Keccak hash of a length greater than 72. A lot of others will. I'm probably slower than other devs on that kind of thing, and I'm surprised there isn't GPU software available already. If you plan to keep it CPU-friendly, I think it would have to be credibly hard to port to GPU, which it isn't now, and you'd still likely have to change periodically. Otherwise, CPU miners who believe in you will get blindsided by stealth GPU miners, which is similar to what GPU miners experience with ASICs and isn't likely to drive decentralization. JMHO.
