And I think most of us understood, as Fivestar4everMVP says, that the message they put out saying they were going to shut down the site to refund customers was simply a way to buy time in the face of something that more and more people were becoming aware of. The bad thing is the number of people who have still lost money on the site during this time.

Exactly bud, the site being down is a global issue not regional, I confirmed this from a friend of mine who lives in the UK and he told me the site is down for him as well, which simply means it's down globally and for every one in all parts of the world, this is why I concluded they have finally left us.

And about the refunding stuff, you are right as well, I was never expecting this people to carry out any refund ever since they announce it, this is exactly the same strategy betnomi used after scamming their users, they came back claiming to want to refund every one they stole from but atlas, no body was refunded even though they claimed they refunded everyone.

When a guy appeared in this thread and posted the name of one of the token's developers, saying it was someone from India (if my memory serves me right), and then the FreeBitcoin website immediately posted a refund notice, I said that the new owners of the FreeBitcoin website were afraid of being caught and that's why they lied about the refund, so people would stay calm and stop investigating them. This way, the new owners of FreeBitcoin would gain time to erase all traces of themselves and flee far away, and I was right.

Probably the world was more naive 9 years ago, so do you, and there was still hope trustworthy people could be found and legit services could be offered to crypto enthusiasts. However, each new lie and each new scam we face in our lives discourage the belief in trustworthiness in this world. As result, people become hopeless, just like you.

And hopeless people end resigning to wicked practices like the one this website adopted for themselves, performing an exit scam after so many years of possibly the best service offered to crypto industry, considering it took into consideration those who were starting from zero and had no money to invest in BTC. That is the sad part of the story.

Correct and they just made that refund announcement to lessen up the pressure happening and so for them to get lots of time to escape.

Now that their site is totally shutdown now, I don't think that they have plans to follow what they say. There's nothing to comeback since their reputation has been totally destroyed on the situation happened on their site.

Sad to see that there are people lost their money on supposed to be long time running reputable casino, this remind us again that we should not rely on their reputation and never deposit huge money on online platform which we don't have full control.

They are afraid so they make a reason by a refund notice. But if they really want doing that, they can do that since a long time ago and not just saying "give me more time and I will refund your money" because that is no needed. Plus the CloudFlare have an errors until this time as @LTU_btc mention. That gives them more time doing necessary things before they runs and disappear.

You did the right thing. I you when you mention self-custody you are actually talking about some cold-storage, because in these times in which Bitcoin continues to get more difficult to mine and as it gains value in the long term, people who has a good stash of Satoshis will increasingly become more attractive for scammers.

That's for sure if we are going to follow not your keys not your coins. However, these exchanges are subject to much stricter regulation than freebitco.in, so the risk is lower. There is no way that either of these two exchanges would go more than six months without processing deposits, and with all the previous problems, without the regulators coming down on them.

Right. There is no doubt both exchanges and casinos are treated differently and they have different sets of regulations, even in very strict countries like the United States or The United Kingdom. Exchanges are always asked to prove their liquidity when there is the slightest problem with withdrawals, which casinos have more room to manoeuver when they experiment problems with people wanting to get their money to their own wallets.

Also, it would be unthinkable to have an exchange as big as Binance or Coinbase in which the CEOS are anonymous in the same manner those behind Freebitcoin are. Perhaps, if casinos were treated more like exchanges, we would see less scams being pulled off against users, like Freebitcoin did and other casinos did, like Betnomi.

It was usually the case BEFORE the shit show we are in now when the site would go down. They would either be doing some “maintenance” or there would be a “technical issue”. From my end I cannot even access the login page, the last time I checked their website and managed to get some information was several weeks ago.

It is pretty safe to assume they are consolidating their exit scam and running as far as they can with the money. If they wanted to keep in touch with the community whom they owe millions of dollars in Bitcoin, then they would have kept the main webpage up and some message directing people towards the instructions on how to get a refund.

All this just adds up if they are trying to get lost with all the Bitcoins, their announcement when closing down for good was nothing but a smoke screen.
