Maybe the freebitcoin team just ran off with users' money, but personally, I get the impression that they ran into financial trouble, which ultimately led to them shutting down. These suspicions started to arise after they stopped drawing the Lambo lottery.

Even if they have financial trouble, they should explain all things related to their members so no one will desperate waiting for the clear explanation. They can start to refund the members funds without waiting for too long to gives back the situation. People should accepts the reality and not expecting to get their funds back again as no one from the teams return and explains the situation.

If they had good intentions, they would certainly be more open to communicating with the community and would have explained the situation long ago. But this isn’t the case with the Freebitcoin team, which either ignores the community or comes up with some absurd excuses. One of the most recent and absurd excuses they came up with was that their BTC wallet needed to be resynced, and supposedly, because of this, withdrawals weren’t working on the site.

Yes, the main beneficiary of the casino token is the casino itself, as they have free tokens with them and they need to create its value, and the more valuable the token is, the more profitable the casino can benefit from that token.

There are two schemes that most of the token creators use to provide value to the token, the first is staking, and the other is the buy-back scheme. Freebitco was involved in providing staking of Fun token and that was the only platform where gamblers could keep their FUN token and earn rewards. Sadly, Freebitco was first to stop the withdrawal of FUN tokens and a lot of investors were left empty handed as they couldn't withdraw.

I am lucky that I never got involved in such a shitty scheme. If I were one of the victims, I would have filed a scam complaint against them and raised a flag. I would spread this news everywhere on the internet. I know that victims cannot really do anything against Freebitco.in at this moment. I am not sure if the owner is known. Everyone seems to care about the casino license today, but Freebitco.in does not have one. However, I haven't seen if the forum members have criticized this casino for not having a license.

I guess it worked in the beginning, because there wasn't too much adoption regards their premium program. But as investors started acquiring FUN, staking and receiving huge returns in FUN amounts, then the market reacted negatively with so much supply coming in.

It could have ended without a scam, though, if the operators weren't careless and negligent. They could have acted before, just like they were doing when decreasing winning chances at the Wheel of Fortune.

People are not supposed to give so much credit to Freebitcoin, in my opinion. It is true the did the right thing for years, when they did not have such a massive volume of gamblers and people on their website, but they ultimately committed the mistake of integrating this shit-token in their ecosystem, and I am pretty sure that affected their liquidity somehow.
Perhaps,.things would have been different if they had stayed only with Bitcoin and didn't experiment with alternative currencies on their casino.

It does not matter now, though, since they have fully gone rogue and exit-scam all their depositors and investors.

Of course, things would have been different without that partnership and the integration of the fun token. However, it’s worth noting that they would have had to come up with something new anyway to continue attracting a new audience. Freerolls, a hi/lo game, and a few sports betting bets would clearly not have been enough to remain a popular gambling platform.

Does anyone know if the casino is still up and running, accepting deposits? I’ve gone to the sign-up page and it looks normal – there’s no sign of that message saying they were going to shut down. I’ve tried logging in, but as it’s been a while since I last did so, it tells me they’ve sent me a verification email that hasn’t arrived (which is one of the issues that’s been reported here for a while now – that emails don’t get through). In any case, I don’t really mind; I just wanted to log in to see if, once inside, the message about the shutdown appears, or if it doesn’t and they seem to be still accepting deposits.

I feel you are not aware of the issues with Freebitco. It's much worse than just not receiving authorization emails.
Freebitco has disabled withdrawals for around 9 months and they don't respond to the complaints at all.

I didn't know that if you hit the deposit button, that window was popping up. Now I checked it myself and as I see, that window appears on withdraw button too and it's not only about Bitcoin, the same thing happens to FUN token deposit/withdrawal button too. As soon as a person enters the casino, they see a warning message saying that the site is closing and asking them to read the message. Then, when the person clicks on the link, that message appears that you've already seen, and we've all seen, and we're seeing that it's nothing more than a lie so they can buy time to erase all traces of themselves. In these months that have passed, it's very clear that since they started with delayed withdrawals, they had already become a scam. In other words, these scammers had already planned their exit scam as soon as they decided to stop the signature campaign.

Well, that ultimately just adds up to the whole messy and scammy situation of this casino.
It is rather silly of me, because I would always assume those counters and numbers to be legitimate if the service itself is big enough for those numbers to be reasonable, like in services like big exchanges like Binance, where they also show their numbers off.

I will never those those counters again after suffering this disappointing experience with Freebitcoin, that is for sure.

If I’m wrong, I have no problem admitting it; it can happen to any of us.

And I was wrong indeed. It’s true what you say, that there was a brief pause between 22 and 30 March when the funds hadn’t been replenished. What I don’t see is how that’s indicative of anything, as loads of long-running campaigns have been put on hold at some point without that being indicative of anything.

I suppose I misread earlier, thinking you were suggesting that was the key reason the campaign ended or something.
