I often call this the electronic money market. I do not consider it to be virtual currency. Because I have a lot of appreciation for blockchain technology, so to say it is virtual currency I do not feel right.

I think both are very important for the today's generation and the future generations because most of the people turns to online that's why both are very much important for us and the new generation of people.

Many people often gets confuse between digital money and virtual currency. Both are different.
Virtual currency"a type of unregulated, digital money, which is issued and usually controlled by its developers, and used and accepted among the members of a specific virtual community
Digital currency is a type of currency available only in digital form, not in physical (such as banknotes and coins).

Hello friends.
I have a problem to share.
My country is average. They are too familiar with outdated and old technologies.
In my country many people still understand Bitcoin as virtual currency. BTC does not bring anything to life. They just think Bitcoin investment is gambling, chance, black red.
Why?
Why do not they look at Bitcoin, ETH or blockchain technology for the present.
Blockchain minimizes transportation costs, intermediates and risks.
Personally, I always try to absorb and learn nonstop.
And you? How is your country?
Those are the kind of people that are left behind, how many people thought that mobile phones will never amount to anything? Many people and now if you do not have a mobile phone you are immediately seen as someone that is very weird, right now they can say that because cryptocurrencies are not adopted globally but in a few decades they will have no option but to know how to use cryptocurrencies or they will be left behind.

For some countries, fear is the thing that prevents the government to build and enact laws on cryptocurrency.
You can take Vietnam as an example, iFan is a scam, it took millions of from naive investors and now everybody thinks that every ICO campaign is scam.
Even some local authorities took mining hardware from miners when they don't have anything to do with ICO.

Isnt surprising since every countries do have their own perspective when it comes to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Some might consider some might stop and just purely treating it as a fixed thing.
You cant blame them on what they do believe but we do know that it would be their own loss if they wont believe on this such potential tech. They would only accept it when bitcoins price is already at the top.

Thank you for comment.
I do not blame anyone.
The issue here is how people in my country think of Crypto.
My country is located in Southeast Asia, is a progressive country.
I believe in the near future people will understand what Technology 4.0 gives people, the country Smiley
They will surely realize those thing in the near future, just wait a little and expect more about bitcoin and other alternative coins. It's your advantage because it seems that you understand the virtual currency clearly. Adding the point that the crypto market is going up again and make a path to earn more profit. Best of luck folks.

When I am buying juice in a juice stand then I prefer to use the paper money for faster payment and transaction, but when it come to booking or reservation online like fine dining restaurant, air-plain ticket, room reservation on hotels, or reserving slot for movie, I rather use digital money if possible.

You should be studying what is digital currency first after knowing that virtual currency and digital money are similar to each other and People in your country are not that interested in bitcoin so they can't see the idea of it. It is good that you understand the matter.

Yah I don't find any difference between virtual and Degital currency. When local currency and crypto currencies used online it's said to be degital. But virtual is always used online and it's Degital in nature. As far as I know,  no crypto currency has created it's physical notes as of now.  It would be really good if it happens. Waiting to feel and experience the physical bitcoin note.

Won't open new thread and will be glad if I hear your opinions about this.
Let's really think, what's difference between digital money and currency? In reality only payment way and the one thing: Bitcoin is currency and payment way - both together + this one changes price very frequently and you can fill your wallet with mined bitcoins from miner.
Digital money is just combination of numbers which shows you own x money on your card or on internet banking.
Nothing more, banks can even dissapear this difference but they don't so this and instead offer us bitcoin debit cards.

Actually in my country bitcoin and so on are not prohibited but bitcoin should not be used untul sale / purchase transactions / may only be rupiahkan first and in use again, maybe this is also a method to hold bitcoin prices so as not to soar and the government will enter the world bitcoin first.

I do not think they know what bitcoin is due to lack of information when bitcoin or crypto has enormous potential and it should be utilized and when others just start learning about bitcoin we already enjoy the results. Smiley

Digital money is a money that can only be used over the internet and works only with an internet & also with a power of an electricity. A currency is a type of money that we can use to buy stuffs.

Huh?to be honest i dont understand a single word on your explationation. Can you please be more specific next time on what you are trying to elaborate?

To the op:
Digital money is something to be a digital while virtual currency is something that is virtual ( like what you see in a vr glasses )

When we talk about any of the crypto currency, most of the time we get confused in calling these crypto coins as either virtual currency or digital money.

There is not much difference in between both the words and that you can use any of the word for any of the crypto currency. Being an investor, your focus should be on learning and managing the things well other than getting confused over name.
