I can only see this coin going up very rapidly now that Bitcoin is getting Lightning Network making many alts useless, many alts only had a benefit of being cheaper to send transactions. LN now makes 80% of alts irrelevant.

Cool now go post the same to the rest of 80 % alt coins.
I think you may have read my comment wrong, or perhaps I worded it wrong or im reading your comment wrong lol. I'm saying GRC has a unique factor about it making it valuable unlike many alts which only had the 'cheaper than bitcoin' factor to them. So LN wiped 80% of alt coins selling point, GRC on the other hand is a coin still with a selling point. Other coins would be Monero, SONM and a few others.

Yeah you are right I read hastily and wrong Sad my apologies

NP I know you're a GRC advocate like me Smiley my alt BrannigansLaw got hacked, the account I used to post here quite often from.

The price dropped so fast, but I guess at least it did moon even for a bit and that's something most altcoins aren't doing right now.

GRC is so undervalued right now! Low volumes, since ages. I have almost finished accumulating. My friends and I at Cryptounderground, have too.

You got a heads up, before hitting 4K SATS. Brace yourselves for the moon.

Bitcoin price exploded, altcoin prices IN BITCOIN dropped as a result pretty much across the board.
Price VS FIAT ($US etc) has been more or less flat to a small increase.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

True. It also worries me that GRC is being heavily under looked.

In my opinion, the boom of bitcoin has a great impact on the price of each coin. So is GRC. I think it is still a time to look at it for a while!

Who knows how much longer this BTC parabolic rally is gonna last, but it would not be a bad idea to pickup some more GRC on this dip for when Altcoin season kicks in.

Why is the project so dead price terms wise? Is there any development happening in this project? Is there anything I'm missing? I do understand the BTC rally has affected the price of all alts, but GRC seems dead.

Even the dev forum seems lacking now. These guys have the potential to be in the top 10 but they're doing F all.

I sent Gridcoin from Poloniex to Biitrex, the first time I am transfering the coin, first I was shocked when I saw it requires 999 confirmations, now there are already 842 but for over 5 hours now, no more confirmations and it is already getting to 2 days, hope the coins is not lost in the process

This is the first time I am seeing a 999 confirmations requirements, is there anything I should do again?

Is this true? 999 confirmations needed?

How exactly is that going to hold up long term? I mean that seems like an incredible waste of time and energy. Could this be partially responsible for it's slow climb? I just think about the incredible work that GRC is doing partnered with BOINC. Putting computing power to something like curing malaria or AIDS or any other project that goes into helping others.

999 confirmations seems a bit excessive.

Wow, making an account here is painful, and it's impossible to recover my old account. Anyway, that madness out of the way...

Gridcoin is very much alive. Most of the developer activity is now in Slack (you can check for yourself at teamgridcoin.slack.com) and the community action has largely moved to Reddit and Steemit where it's growing rapidly (just hit over 3000 users on reddit and growing by 25-50 a day now).

Regarding development, I'd recommend https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@ravonn/upcoming-gridcoin-3-7-0-0-changes for a good overview of what's coming up.Smiley

As @natekicks has said we have a vibrant community and a dedicated development team working on Gridcoin.

Gridcoin is very much alive and the community is certainly alive and kicking ..

Any user or potential user should look at Steemit for info on our bi-weekly hangouts ( last one was #45 ) and podcasts of these hangouts are available on most podcast sites including a live stream during the Gridcoin Hangout on Twitch ( courtesy of fkinglag ).

We also run bi-weekly Gridcoin Classrooms where we cover pre-planned subjects to do with all matters Griidcoin and answer relevant questions from the floor both in live audio and internal and external text through a live link to the IRC #gridcoin-mumble channel.

As @natekicks has said we are also on Slack, although this does require an invtation by a Gridcoin member.

There there are a multitude of channels from #crunch-tinkering which covers innovative ways to improve and tweak your software and hardware and hardware builds from Ryzen to Pi to the #development channel where you will find our knowledgable and dedicated devs.

We also have a Discord channel, IRC and of course Reddit ..

So a dead coin and community we are not .. Very much alive and kicking and communicating ..

Use your friend Google and you'll find we are out there .. Google Gridcoin ..

Nah, we just hang on different platforms Smiley The day to day communication is done on Slack while the more permanent work is done on Github. See the staging branch for what's being tested for the next release, and the development branch for the changes coming in the release after. I wrote a summary covering the main changes coming up in the Gridcoin 3.7.0.0 release.

Thanks guys for the updates.  Honestly I just don't have the time to be on multiple platforms (besides here, FB, and sometimes Slack).  If you guys could make at least a once a week presence on here, it would be appreciated!!

I too am glad for the positive response, was a bit worried there! I do think people here need to be kept updated though.

Same for us Smiley We have naturally and unintentionally streamlined the development process to github and Slack. Beyond that there is also reddit, IRC, Telegram, Facebook, Bitcointalk, Cryptocointalk, Twitter and Steemit, so keeping everyone updated has become a chore. I can try to make a bigger presence here but as of right now the best bet for the most up to date status with the least effort is probably reddit.
