In order to earn something both the wallet and BOINC have to be running.

But if you are just starting out, I would suggest to use the pool on pool.gridcoin.co , you will earn GRC regularly and don't have to worry about setting everything up.

Hello!

I'm really happy to see what you accomplished so far with this coin. I totally agree with the PoW waste of electrical + computational power that don't benefit society.

I'm a Nxt supporter and I would like to start a collaboration between the 2 communities. I'm not a either a developer or a core Nxt developer.

So, if interested, could please some Gridcoin Core developer join my proposal over the Nxt forum (https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-boinc/msg206734/#msg206734) and see what can be accomplished?

Thanks,

MrCluster87

Hi MrCluster,

this is not the main Gridcoin Forum, it is here: https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/464-gridcoin-grc/

So it's probably better to post the suggestion there, I could also crosspost it for you.

What kind of collaboration do you have in mind?

Hi Spassbold!! Yes please repost my suggestion over the gridcoin forum.

I don't know how much you know about Nxt, so the degrees of collaboration could vary from just developing a BOINC plug-in to merging the 2 communities.  Wink

Hi MrCluster,

unfortunately I do not know much about Nxt. How would such a BOINC plugin for nxt look ike and what would be the role of Gridcoin in it?

We need the developers of the 2 communities to talk, cose I can only point to this (https://nxtforum.org/nxt-plugins/%28client-plugins%29-specification-developers-guide/msg162871/#msg162871).

Let's say that you have the knowledge of how Boinc works and we have the distributed computing in our roadmap (http://www.nxttechnologytree.com/nxt-technology/nxt-distributed-computing), so maybe we could speed up the development.  Wink

You should post your proposal in the main thread on cryptocointalk: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/

Still unable to go to the download the research client on Gridcoin's site. I see some of the links are working now, I wonder if they are updating the site?

Hello akaman,

thank you.
I have seen this website but where do I insert my wallet adress?
There are two places one for block hash and block hight and the other for transaction hash.

Or it does not work only with my wallet?

Kind regards,
Zorro

Just curious, where can I tell people to get the best GRC QT wallet support?

I noticed quite a few unanswered support threads last time I checked cryptocointalk.com in late December.

Has the support forum unofficially moved to the reddit? https://www.reddit.com/r/gridcoin

sorry in advance if this is a redundant question.

Thanks for all the great work.

Gridcoin Research 3.5.5.8/MSI=39.6
Leisure Upgrade

- Modified GRCRestarter so that downloadblocks uses the new 960gb anti-ddos host (and modified height to be correct during download)
- Fixed bug in Foundation Expense/Campaign Add to not throw a poll error while adding an expense or campaign
- Added a new RPC command to allow data to be stored in burn transactions, and modified the RPC to report on the data (or custom beacons) in listreceivedbyaddress:
  a. To burn gridcoins with a custom data payload, execute the following:
execute burn GRCBurnAddress GRCBurnAmount BurnCategory This_Is_MyBurnMessage
Note that you create your own Category (for example if your project is called Asteroids, maybe use Asteroids for the category).
To report on the burns, you may find the TxIds and BurnCategory and Burn Messages with this command:
     listreceivedbyaddress
Note: The output will be JSON and the Key and Data values will only be in the JSON when they are populated with data.
