i am sure this has been asked before but I just have to ask again . I installed protoshares wallet . It says wallet out of sync , recent transactions out of sync , no block source available 8 weeks behind . so knowing absolutely nothing about this mining process I have no idea what to do about this .
Is there some other program I also need to be running to mine protoshares ?
EDIT : Have to add in one more question . When I install the wallet " protoshares-qt.exe " this does not install any program that i can find . No listing in " All Programs " win xp . I also have no idea where it stores the wallet so i can copy to a usb for backup . I did encrypt it .
color me stupid but how do i open a debug window for this program ?

I haven't read this whole thread, hoping someone can help me. I'm running the QT client on my mac i3 set at mine 4 processes. Running "getmininginfo" gives me this: What am I doing wrong? { "blocks" : 37542, "currentblocksize" : 10225, "currentblocktx" : 11, "difficulty" : 0.00994143, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : 4, "collisionspermin" : 13.54334444, "pooledtx" : 13, "testnet" : false }

Way to difficult. I paid the fee, tried it. Can't figure it out.

Can someone please tell me, can you still mine PTS? if so, for how long? Has the last block been found, and if so, is there anything like a PTS 2.0 coming?
I wanted to try CPU mining but it seems I may be late...

You would need around 1600 to 2000 cpm (collision per minuter) to get approximately one PTS a day. If you have the cpu power, then yes. If not, then just trade for PTS. Anyone wondering when the DAC's come online or are they already? Is MMC (MemoryCoin v2) the only DAC-ish coin at the moment for PTS?

Yup, 1 MMC per 10 PTS. What's the next DAC? BitUSD or BitShares or something else?

Yup, I think you get it from the PTS wallet with a command in the debug console, then just import it to a new MMC wallet via debug console. I think it was quoted in the MMC post some where and/or on the MMC site. Update: Here's the site link for importing the privkey to MMC from PTS: http://protoshares.com/redeem.html .

Memorycoin is not a DAC. Memorycoin just honors Protoshares.

Memorycoin is not a DAC. Memorycoin just honors Protoshares. To be fair, Bitcoin and MemoryCoin are both DACs, MemoryCoin is just as flawed as BTC when it comes to being a PROFITABLE DAC.

I could be wrong but I think the private keys are compatible, so aslong as you held PTS before a certain date then you have been issued some MMC... so just import your PTS pvt key into the MMC wallet (yes thats scary) and then you should have them if your blockchain is up-to-date. Idea is that DAC's just like merged-mine coins fork off of the original PTS thus are on a block chain that is essentially the same but just different genesis header+block. So just like the Devcoin share list they have for bitcoin developers, they can do the same thing since they are issued Devcoins to their Bitcoin address every round.

Hi Guys, thinking of mining protoshares together with scrypt rig. I am thinking of this options:
Intel Core i7-4820K Intel Core i7-4771 AMD Vishera FX-8350 AMD Vishera FX-9590
what would be the best? What cols/min can I expect from 9590?
Or do you know about any other good processor giving over 300 cols/min and costing under 500 USD?
Thanks a lot!
