BTC will keep its leadership and eth will always become the 2nd cryptocurrency

I think that both these coins have equal probability to make good profit for 2018 year. Personally I prefer ETH that is really widely used as platform for other ERC-20 coins
Also recently, I prefer ETH because it has smart contracts. + lots of promising coins on its platform. And who will win here time will only show. |

Hello everyone!
Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?
In my own opinion, ethereum coins this year has improved so much, from the price of $200 dollars per coin, it sky rocketed to $1k dollar and that was a huge improvement for an altcoin. |

I'm sure this year's winner is Ethereum, because the price of Ethereum will increase very rapidly compared to Bitcoin in this year.

Even that I more prefer ETH because of smart contract and ERC-20, but BTC will be always crypto king because it's more known by people. Maybe ETH can beat BTC but it's still need more time.

If we will compare market capitalization of Bitcoin and Ethereum, becomes obvious that Bitcoin still dominates the crypto currency market and most likely this year nothing will change. So I bet on Bitcoin's victory!

These crypto coins are very good. But there are new crypto coins that can compete with them and eventually take the lead. for example Ontology Network is a blockchain/distributed ledger network which combines distributed identity verification, data exchange, data collaboration, procedure protocols, communities, attestation, and various industry-specific modules

For marketcap and of course bitcoin is still number # 1, but for a percentage increase I'm sure that ETH is better so I do not hesitate to make ETH more important than bitcoin.

It depends on how Bitcoin will perform.
If BTC falls, Ethereum will also fall.
If BTC rises quick, Ethereum may fall behind.
If there will be a long period of slow growth for BTC, Ethereum may be a better investment.

ETH's time's gonna come, and soon. I've always thought it still hasn't reached it's true all time high yet, and that's what we're gonna look at this 2018. The demand is there, the infrastructure is there, and the tech is working good. It just needs a major push for it to have a record bull run again.
This year, I bet on Ethereum. As I see, this is the platform that interests many guys that are dealing always with the cryptocurrencies. Surely, Bitcoin will also rise a lot but not so great as ETH. |

I believe that Bitcoin will still dominate cryptocurrency market in 2018 although it fell to 33% last year.  But king is still king forever. |

I think that all the two currencies and the ether and bitcoin will flourish, I am sure that this year will be a good profit. Although the ether is inferior to bitcoin, of course there are disadvantages and advantages everywhere, but I will hope for both.

It is still too early to draw any conclusions about who the champion is, maybe there can be some other champion today, with other tempers today there are other contenders for victory, for example, wanchain

The winner is Bitcoin, I'm sure and there is no doubt with it. No altcoin even eth can beat bitcoin because the bitcoin is the first coin ever introduced in blockchain technology and that is the reason why many altcoins are arising today. The gap of bth between eth is very big and it's impossiblr for eth to beat btc unless eth has investors as many or as much as the investors of btc.

Well as of right now, Ethereum is 0.0843btc, a long way from 0.053btc in April. While Bitcoin is struggling to maintain an uptrend, Ethereum is slowly gaining back lost ground to its ATH at 0.152btc. That's 1,258 dollars in today's BTC price.

No one will give you exactly the answer to this question, because the development of the crypto currency is unpredictable, and if bitcoin is replaced by another coin, it will not happen very soon.

Each coin has its advantages and disadvantages, not only in bitcoin. I do not believe that only because of the factors that you listed, bitcoin is in the first place. Personally, I have no doubt that bitcoin will remain the leader of all crypto-currencies. |
