I seem to recall that bitlotto said he'd set up a dead man's switch for this, more likely tech or weather problems I'd guess & at least it worked well on the 7th of September three weeks after the pirate ship sunk so he hadn't been passing the funds through before the draw or lending them to any of the other guaranteed/insured jokers it seems at least & I can't see any reason that he'd have them deposited on GLBSE, more like in offline cold storage I'd imagine from his posts in this thread.
BTC funds from the draw will NEVER be invested or transferred into anything else!

This site does not yet appear to have an affiliate program.

Given how the ticket purchasing works directly through bitcoin transactions, it would likely be a challenge to come up with something that works.

It would be cool though if somehow I could refer tons of people to bitlotto and then if any of them win, I get say 5% of their payout.

I bought 4 tickets on the 7th. Can I assume they are good for the Nov draw? Thanks.
If you paid into the Oct fund address they will be automatically returned. Just use that and deposit into the November address.

We could set up something if you want. I can provide a BTC address for you. I'll then give you the 1% of the ticket sales that I would have got. Just PM if you are interested.

Bah!

That is an address set up for Dareq the scammer!

Er, apparently ... according to BurtW.  (That possibly is Burt's account, if I understand the message):

I thought of this scenario out of many possibilities.

The problem with it would be that people would have to know that the BTC address that affiliates are giving out are official Bitlotto addresses, owned by you. And if customers were going to go to that trouble (they'd have to visit your site to confirm it), then they might as well just be sending to the main ticket address.

Or, the affiliate would have to be someone very trustworthy* so that they don't just publish one of their own addresses and run with the ticket money.

*trustworthy without hard credentials doesn't really mean much, as most people have discovered in recent months.

I find it somewhat of an intriguing challenge though, trying to think up a workable affiliate system under such conditions.

Yes, that is our 1dareq bitlotto pool account.  We play almost every month.  Myself and two others were in the pool this month so we will be splitting the BTC 3 ways.  I will take the one extra left over satoshi for running the pool Smiley

Feels good to finally win !!!

Congrats to the BurtW pool!

My apologies bitlotto, I didn't mean to suggest that you would ever risk the lotto funds - was just voicing what may go through ppls heads atm if you're away for too long at draw time, nice to still have some honest BTC businesses around, hope the jackpot soon gets back to 100 plus coins again, I'll bet 20 or so tomorrow to help kick-start the pot.

20 BTC sent, jackpot for Nov including pools is 22.5 BTC atm > $270 Smiley
I have to ask, and you can ignore me or tell me it isn't my business.  But how do you afford to gamble so much?

I started in March & April with about 3 btc total bet & lost, then in May I decided I wanted to show support for BitLotto & bet a lot with about a 1 in 4 chance of winning but did so, these were coins that I'd bought in Nov, Dec 2011. After that I've been in credit effectively with my BL bets so it hasn't been an expense for me.

May bet 112 btc, won 387 btc, balance 272 btc
June bet 111 btc, won 20% share of pool 97 btc, balance 258 btc
July bet 24 btc, lost 24 btc, balance 234 btc
Aug bet 121 btc, won 270 btc, balance 383 btc
Sept bet 10 btc, lost 10 btc, balance 373 btc
Oct bet 14 btc so far...

Additionally I bet 6 btc per month on behalf of a charity fund I've set up, so far that's cost me 33 btc lost on BL.

So the only real high risk extravagance was the May bet of $555 att which was money that I'd already made from other activities, I also planned to switch most of my gambling on National/State high rack rate lotteries to BitLotto which I've done & that's saved me at least the $555 initial stake over the last 5 to 6 months .

I could PGP sign the address with my PGP key. The address will be part of my wallet. So they could verify the address and won't have to trust you with the BTC since they are always under my control...

But yes, I have a feeling people would just visit the website and use the main address. We could experiment and give it a shot if you want. Nothing to lose other than our time! Wink

Thanks. I've been very busy and not really following what's happening outside my world. Looks pretty scary all the scams happening! I assure you and everyone else that I will do my best to keep this as one of the oldest, honest gambling games around! Even if I die, BTC should go out before the game ends. (Hopefully I don't have to test that feature for a while though! LOL)

Nope it gets sent to the winning address regardless of any contact from anyone, it usually takes a few days which I assume is due to triple checking of results - waiting for any objections to them that may arise & then negotiating the secure offline storage under the permafrost guarded by auto-bot turret guns & labyrinthine ways for any potential intruders to meet their virtual doom, also he just seems to kind of send it out whenever he gets around to it but it does always get sent np, most that I've waited has been under one week if I recall correctly.

Edit: Aug draw was on 3rd & received winnings the 9th
